I’ve written to every Member of Parliament today. Proposals before Parliament would remove jury trials from offences carrying up to three years in prison. Freedoms rarely vanish overnight. They are chipped away in the name of efficiency. Juries did not cause the crisis in our courts. Removing them will not fix it. When the state seeks to take someone’s liberty for serious offences, the judgment of ordinary citizens should never be optional. This is close to becoming law. Please read the letter. Contact your MP now.

"South West Water admits criminal offence over Devon parasite outbreak." Meanwhile South West Water, no relation to the equally hopeless South East Water, have admitted to poisoning the town of Brixham and making 150 people sick. I'll ask the question again, what the hell is it that a water company has to do to lose their operating licence? theguardian.com/business/2026/…

⚠️Two men who filmed themselves r-ping a barely conscious young woman in a Northern Ireland car park - STILL not sentenced because they suddenly decided they couldn't speak english - and need an interpreter. Justice delayed is justice denied. This woman deserves better. 😡

⚠️ NORTHERN IRELAND: Two men who filmed themselves attacking an almost unconscious woman in a Dungannon car park are now delaying their own sentencing - claiming they suddenly "can’t understand English." Alcino Soares, 20, and Luis Dos Martins Mariano, 19, pleaded guilty to r-ping the woman, laughing as they took turns and filmed it. They were due to be sentenced last week - but the hearing collapsed and was pushed back 3 months after Soares insisted he needed a rare Tetum interpreter. This, despite Soares: • having several Facebook profiles in English • reading his police interview transcript in English • attending school in English • friends confirming he spoke fluent English • telling police: "She wanted it" and "I didn’t r-pe anyone. No way, man" • previously appearing in court with no interpreter Even Judge Richard Green called it out: "He appears to have communicated very well without an interpreter." Meanwhile, their victim - subjected to a horrific attack, described limp and "ragdoll-like" in the footage - must wait even longer for justice. ⁉️ Why are courts allowing dangerous offenders to stall justice with blatant interpreter games?

Fuel companies are going to absolutely shaft us over this war and supermarkets, water companies & all other private industries will giddily join in with the shafting.

A woman was accused of 'cop-shopping' by police because she'd been to 2 different police stations to report her ex-husband for stalking and threatening her. They told Kelly she needed to ‘cool off’ and to 'give him a break’. He stabbed her and burned her to death just days later. share.google/Iw2BLHMAeeLDOZ…

579 illegals have entered the UK in the past two days, via 7 dinghies. If you’re self employed, don’t forget the tax year ends in one month’s time, so you need to start thinking about submitting your tax return.

Maggie Oliver deserves a knighthood. She exposed the grooming gang scandal when others stayed silent. Now she has secured a judicial review against the Government over its failure to act. One woman showing more courage than the entire political establishment.

PRESS RELEASE: HIGH COURT GRANTS HISTORIC PERMISSION FOR @TMOFCharity The Maggie Oliver Foundation TO CHALLENGE GOVERNMENT ON FAILURE TO ACT ON CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE AND EXPLOITATION This morning the High Court granted permission for charity, The Maggie Oliver Foundation, to challenge the Government on its failure to implement the recommendations of the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA). The judgement is a moment of profound significance for survivors of child sexual abuse and for every child in this country whose safety depends on the Government honouring its commitments to reform. The Court found that following promises from consecutive governments, over the last almost four years, to learn lessons from IICSA to drive improvement in the policy and legislation protecting children, there is a legitimate expectation for them to deliver the inquiry’s twenty recommendations. The judge specifically highlighted the continued permission of use of pain inducing restraint techniques on children, a practice described as amounting to torture by IICSA, as an area where the Government has not justified its failure to act. The case will now proceed to a full substantive hearing. Maggie Oliver (former Detective and founder of the Maggie Oliver Foundation) will say: “Today is a historic day, not just for the Foundation, but for every survivor who has testified, waited and hoped. And it is for every child now and in the future, and for everyone who believes the state’s primary duty is to protect its citizens, especially the most vulnerable. When governments make promises to act and then walk away, children pay the price. Today the court has said, those promises matter.”

And just so you know what kind of scumbags you're dealing with here over recent months South East Water have been in the High Court twice, trying to keep their activities secret. Turns out they had been illegally abstracting water without a licence, 52.3 million litres of it. And were trying to suppress the fact they were about to be fined for not supplying water. No doubt major shareholders @NatWestGroup will be able to confirm that they approved of the company trying keep all of this secret from their customers and the public.

You'll want to be sitting down for this bit. Water companies are currently £82.7 billion in debt, have paid themselves £85 billion in dividends, leak over a trillion of litres of water per year, dump sewage for almost 4 million hours per year, have been convicted of over 1,200 criminal acts since 1989 and an average of 35% of your bill goes on nothing but paying more interest and yet more dividends. And not a single company has ever lost their operating licence. 👇
Prem Sikka@premnsikka

Yorkshire Water and Northumbrian Water have nearly 200 criminal convictions between them. On 6 August 2024, Ofwat fined them £47m and £17m for sewage dumping. Fines not paid, will not be paid. Firms claim to have invested. No penalty for abusing laws leftfootforward.org/2026/01/public…

Mark Hehir was a bus driver in London who chased down a man who stole a passenger's necklace.     He’s a hero. But guess what? The bus company @metroline sacked him.
They said the thief was a “customer”. Inexplicably a tribunal upheld their decision. It’s no wonder we live in a country that increasingly feels lawless. One where decent people feel the system is stacked against them. Metroline should reinstate Mark and apologise for their disgraceful conduct.

@anon_opin it wasn't fraud though - we'd paid for a space for a certain amount of time & gifted the unused time to someone else. what the carparks are doing now is double-charging if you don't use all the time, & someone else pays again which isn't quite fraud but it's bastard behaviour.

Society lost something when carparks starting asking for your car registration. Yes it was technically fraud, but passing on your non expired ticket to a grateful stranger as you left the car park was one of life's simple joys.
