I can’t begin to tell you how much fun it is to be involved with a NASCAR/ARCA team as a sponsor. Congrats @CAMELCASTOff on a GREAT finish yesterday. Looking forward to more good times. 👍🏁🇺🇸

Before Python, Java, or even C++, there was Fortran—the first major programming language. In 1957, John Backus and his team at IBM developed Fortran, making coding much easier than low-level machine code. Before Fortran, programmers had to write instructions in binary or assembly—slow and complicated. Fortran changed everything. It allowed programmers to use simple, math-like commands, making it especially useful for scientists and engineers. NASA even used Fortran to help land humans on the Moon. Fortran set the stage for modern coding languages, and it’s still used today in scientific computing.

The CEO at SGI, Ed McCracken, rode the Hollywoood wave and insane margins, but the writing was on the wall (Clark warned). Eventually all they had left was Clark’s IP to license. On that note, every time I listen to a new Senra podcast I say it’s the best one, and this time was no different. I have to say my favorite part was when Marc said he was “tech support the the Internet.” 😂

Jim Clark called both NVIDIA and the internet before either existed: "Everything we sell today for $50,000 is going on a chip, on a card, on a PC, and it's going to cost $300. Either we're the company that makes that, or we get destroyed." "The function of the computer is no longer going to be mainly what just the computer does. It's going to be the fact that it can talk to all the other computers." Both predictions proved exactly right. The CEO said we'll deal with it in the future. Jim said by the time the future arrives, it's going to be too late. So he left and built the next company.

This was a really great episode. Listening to Marc talk about the rock star of tech, SGI, brought back some good memories. I worked for one of their few resellers, and we tried to warn them too. Didn’t work. Then one day I was waiting for a fax when an engineer sitting at the only terminal in our building said “I’ve just seen the future and it’s called Mosaic.” Good times. Thanks as always, David.

🚨 THE RV MARKET IS CRASHING — $239,660 WINNEBAGO NOW SELLING FOR $120,000 — A 50% WIPEOUT An RV dealer walking his lot just showed what’s happening across the RV market right now. He tours a 2024 Winnebago Vista Canyonlands National Park Foundation Edition 29NP with only 8,113 miles on it. Then he shows the original window sticker. MSRP from Winnebago: $239,660 Current price? $120,000. That’s 50% of the value gone in about a year and a half. Outdoor TV. 270° wraparound awning. Full wall slide. Generator. Ducted AC. During the pandemic boom, RV dealers couldn’t keep units on the lot. Now inventory is stacking up, financing is expensive, and prices are getting slashed. When nearly-new RVs that sold for $240K in 2024 are suddenly sitting at 50% off, it’s usually a sign something in the market broke. Luxury toys are often the first things to collapse when discretionary money dries up. Would you buy this RV, or does a 50% discount tell you the RV bubble is popping?
