Today we're launching Sailboxes: the first cloud environment purpose-built for long-horizon AI agents. Sailboxes are full machines with persistent state that auto-sleep, built for agents that live forever, priced so you only pay for what they actually use. From $0.015 per active vCPU-hour, over 70% cheaper than other providers. Under the hood: novel architecture from @NirvikBaruah and @mureytasroc that live-migrates VMs based on actual resource usage. To show how robust it is, we ran a Minecraft server in a Sailbox and forced it to migrate every 2 minutes--players never noticed.

a list of books that feel like this: on judgement and thinking clearly: - poor charlie's almanack - how not to be wrong on power: - the prince - discipline and punish on building great things: - zero to one - shoe dog - chaos monkeys - the inifinity machine on seeing yourself more clearly: - this is water - trick mirror - feeling great on history: - guns, germs and steel - sapiens on love and relationships: - a little life - cleopatra and frankenstein - the little prince - the symposium on language (all wittgenstein): - philosophical investigations - the blue book - the brown book

i read somewhere that books are the closest things you find to cheat codes for real life. you can access entire decades of someone else's trial and error in a few hours

day 2 of this experiment. this evening i realized i didn't know enough about gpu performance, so i read horace he's "making deep learning go brrrr." now i know your gpu spends most of its time waiting for data, not doing math. and that every perf problem is one of three failure modes (compute, memory, overhead), and that most people optimize the wrong one also, 10/10 drawings. see them here: horace.io/brrr_intro.html

you are probably one, at most a couple, excellent blog posts away from the frontier of whatever you’re curious about i felt like i didn’t know enough about world models this morning so i read fei fei li’s taxonomy of world models. now i know the field’s actual open problems (3d data scarcer than internet video, multi-object sim absurdly expensive, etc) and why every lab is now racing toward the same architecture this is also my long-winded way of saying you should read it too: open.substack.com/pub/drfeifei/p…

🇰🇷I will be at ICML next week to present our on inference time compute in RL. Reach out if you are interested to chat about inference time compute, planning, world models and RL!
Raj Ghugare@GhugareRaj

Does classical computation theory help explain the success of inference time compute in RL? We study this question in our #ICML2026 oral We prove that policies with higher inference compute solve and generalize to a larger set of tasks. Empirically, we show that such policies can outperform 5x larger ResNets. Website - rajghugare19.github.io/computation-rl… 🧵👇

Last group stage matches this weekend ⚽️ Who's winning the World Cup? We spun up an agent on @sailresearchco (inference + Sailbox) to answer w/ web research via Parallel @p0. 26 GLM 5.2 subagents, 1M tokens, and less than $1 later, here's its take:

Long-horizon agents are coming, and we need better infrastructure. @neilmovva, Samir, and team are the best in the game - so excited to partner with them @CRV!
Neil Movva@neilmovva

Samir Menon @blintzbase and I are thrilled to announce Sail @sailresearchco ! We build infrastructure for long-horizon agents: inference served at unbeatable prices-per-token for open models, plus sandboxes designed to run for days, weeks, or longer. We've raised $80M, w/ our seed led by @Sequoia and series A led by @KleinerPerkins. We're using this capital to build the most efficient infrastructure for long-horizon agents. What makes agents so different? Unlike a human waiting at a keyboard (top priority: speed), agents need scale, reliability, and sustainable cost. Sail finds this efficiency everywhere in the stack: we carefully choose our chips, write custom inference engines, and run a global controller that fully utilizes every computer in our fleet. Tight integration from silicon to API lets Sail open up the cost / latency frontier to our customers - the most patient agents can now access 10x more intelligence per dollar. We're excited to be working with great companies like @parallelweb, @detaildotdev,@Jackandjillai, and @quadrillion_ai to deploy long-horizon agents with trillions of tokens. Our team is thoughtful in our engineering craft and relentlessly ambitious in our pursuit of peak performance. We previously trained at companies like NVIDIA, OpenAI, Google, and so many trading firms. Now we're ready to do the work that will define our careers, in the most compute intensive market of all time. Welcome to the era of abundant intelligence. We can't wait to build with you!

@sailresearchco is focused on the frontier of agentic inference. A future where there are hundreds of long-horizon agents in the background and no bill when not running. Customers can build agents that are maximally ambitious without worrying about dollar constraints. Congratulations to @neilmovva & @blintzbase! I have never met someone who walked out of a meeting with this team and didn’t have their jaw on the floor. Generational talent building full-stack infrastructure, from silicon to sandboxes, for the largest use case in the largest market in the world. Proud investors @VineVenturesLP today and for years to come.

Congratulations to @neilmovva, Samir Menon, and the @sailresearchco team on their $80M Seed & Series A round. We're excited to have invested in both the Seed and Series A alongside many fantastic co-investors. Today, agents run autonomously for hours, making thousands of decisions with no one in the loop. The industry needs an order-of-magnitude drop in cost per token, and Sail is rebuilding the inference stack from the silicon up to deliver it. Neil has spent his career at the hardware-software interface, from Tensor Cores at NVIDIA to the Neural Engine at Apple to leading GPU kernels at Together.ai. Samir's background spans applied cryptography and security, from cofounding Blyss to platform security work at Apple. Together, they've built a culture obsessed with efficiency, where every engineer owns their piece of the stack outright. In this video, they discuss why Sail bet on an order-of-magnitude drop in cost per token, why ownership is the trait they hire for, and why Renee Shah and Satish Dharmaraj backed them on day one. Congratulations again, we are honored to partner with this team! Watch below👇

@kleinerperkins is thrilled to lead the Series A of @sailresearchco and I'm pumped to have joined the board. Agents executing complex work end to end is the ultimate promise of AI, but they are also extremely token hungry. With exploding token volumes, latency stops being the bottleneck. Cost and throughput become everything. Businesses simply cannot afford their inference bills in the age of agents and we're already seeing signs of the tokenmaxxing era running into budget caps, leaving tons of demand for intelligence unmet. @neilmovva and @blintzbase are two of the most precocious builders I've met and are building Sail to meet the moment. They are building *the* inference platform for long horizon agents that will enable every business to run their agents with maximum efficiency and lowest cost. In addition, they have built world class observability (Sail Voyages) and a stateful sandbox (Sailboxes) positioning Sail to be the one place where you operate and run your most critical agents.

We're excited to back @sailresearchco, the inference platform built for long-horizon, asynchronous agents. The next wave of AI isn't a person typing into a box. It's agents running for minutes or hours, burning orders of magnitude more tokens per task. At that scale, cost and capacity beat raw latency, and teams are already hitting budget caps. @neilmovva and @blintzbase are solving this full-stack, from CUDA kernels to the API. Hear Neil and @anaganath on why inference is being rebuilt for the age of agents.

I’ve known @neilmovva for 20 years. Turns out learning to build from first principles at FIRST Robotics takes you pretty far. He got me through AP Physics C back then, and he pushes our team everyday to break those same laws for inference. Couldn’t be prouder to be building the future with you at @sailresearchco. If you want to learn from the best in kernels, reach out!! We’re hiring

Congratulations @neilmovva, @blintzbase & the @sailresearchco team on their launch! We're excited to be investing alongside our friends at Kleiner Perkins, Sequoia & other amazing investors. Sail is building the inference platform for long-horizon agents, letting complex agents run and scale as they begin to power our most valuable work. Grateful to be partnering with an incredible team!
