"Designers are cooked because of AI." Think like this... Everyone can vibe-code an app now, which means there's gonna be tons of products and startups. But not everyone can design. So by my calculations, there will be more work for all of us, because design is what makes them different. We already did $90K, and it's only 2 months into the year. We aren't cooked because they need us. But we will definitely be cooked from overworking.

For me, I’ve spent over 2 decades engineering products. When I first saw AI capabilities, it was crushing. I questioned myself - what I have spent over half my life honing and trying to be the best at is now available to anyone. It’s not as good at art of building but it’s good enough. That made me even more sad as someone who is a perfectionist- our future is going to be stuck at good enough, never great. I like to compare it to hand crafted things like wood working and how the impact of the industrial revolution had on it. Prices of products fell, quality and consistency rose and made things more accessible to people who couldn’t afford things. Today companies like Rolls Royce still build things by hand while companies like Tesla are almost entirely robotic. I own a Tesla and think it’s the biggest piece of trash ever - I don’t know anyone who thinks that about a RR. I decided rather than feel crushed to embrace the imperfection and craftsmanship while leveraging the tools for the stuff no one wants to do. It’s not like people are making bolts by hand, so why not apply the same here. Idk what do you think?

I am very excited about AI, but to go off-script for a minute: I built an app with Codex last week. It was very fun. Then I started asking it for ideas for new features and at least a couple of them were better than I was thinking of. I felt a little useless and it was sad.

I asked @ChatGPTapp Pulse to keep me up to date on @AnthropicAI Claude releases, all it seems to do is tell me about regressions, never any features. Imagine in a couple of years when ads are full scale in the system…

Claude Code pro tip: stop running it in Cursor and VS Code Just run it in the terminal It is SOO much more memory efficient. Meaning your computer runs faster and you can run multiple terminals at the same time Cursor and VScode slow down your computer so much If you use Ghostty as your terminal (free to download) you can split your terminal in 2 and have your server on one side and Claude on the other. This is my new workflow. I'm done with IDE's. Opus 4.5 is so smart you don't need to look at code anymore If you ever need to change an environment variable or something, just open the file in textedit through the finder and change it quickly THIS is now the best Claude Code workflow ever
