As an infra nerd, the happiest part about Mumbai–Pune Missing Link wasn’t just the project… It was seeing non-infra people go crazy over it 😭🔥 People celebrating a road project, sharing it, appreciating engineering, discussing tunnels, bridges, travel time this is the real win. I hope this becomes the norm for every big infra project in India. And I genuinely hope we reach a point where opposing important infra just for politics becomes political suicide. Debate it, improve it, make it sustainable — but don’t blindly block India’s progress.

Amazing drive via the 'Missing Link' (I guess now we should just call this Mumbai Pune Expressway ghat section 🙂). A great piece of engineering indeed. South Mumbai to Pune City in 2 hr 15 min! Just hours after the inauguration of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway's Missing Link on Maharashtra Day, violations were already being reported, with heavy vehicles spotted on the stretch despite a clear ban. As per the official notification, only light motor vehicles, buses, and passenger vehicles are permitted on the route for the first six months until October 31, 2026. The 10.5 km stretch, built at an estimated cost of ₹6,700 crore, also prohibits vehicles carrying flammable, explosive, or hazardous materials following a propylene gas tanker accident near the Adoshi tunnel two months ago.
