@KylieGempler @hallawayjoe @unlvpg I will probably revisit this site and print out screen caps of the directions so that students will have a tangible direction page to assist them in this activity. Hopefully that will minimize some of the confusion for them as well. #cit602 @unlvpg

Accessing the Site Scratch, was an incredible experience as I have had little to no experience with coding. There were several games and mazes to explore prior to creating my own and the 'tips' section provided a phenomenal set of instructions that can be printed. @unlvpg #cit602

@SCollins24 Science classes could incorporate their cross-cutting concepts that are listed in the (NGSS). The school I work at offers an elective in computer tech. Starting with electives to test the water could improve their 'argument for restricting a stable education system." #cit602

"all kids should learn a second language." That is not an argument for restructuring a stable education system. What class in Jr. High and High School should be cut to make room for coding class? #CIT602

youtu.be/dU1xS07N-FA This video from code.org unsettled me. It's scripted much like propaganda. I would like to know how kids of different ages react to this video. It's easy to say "all kids should code" like "all kids should play an instrument" and...

I have been replying to people by clicking on the text bubble. I never see my “replies” show up on main list. Is this incorrect?#cit602

Just completed the layout of my website. Definitely not too flashy just yet but I will be adding to it throughout the summer as well as when the academic year begins and i meet with my PLC. Photos, contact info, surveys, links included. Rate my setup? #cit602 @unlvpg

@unlvpg, I had no idea there was a 'Month of Coding' and that it takes place in December. After visiting the site and resources, I believe there are several opportunities for this to be utilized during that portion of the year. #hourofcoding #1minute #5minute #lessons #cit602

#cit602 @unlvpg W3T2, @iCivics. I highly recommend it for secondary social studies. It features many interactive web games (some for iPad) for your students that mostly cover US law and government, and come with lesson plans. Check out these screencaps for a peek.

@unlvpg for #cit602 we explored an array of interactive online games that can be utilized in the classroom. PHET simulators are a fantastic way to explore several scientific topics through ipad or desktop use. Looking forward to using the new ones this year.

@BaldomeroCoron3 @ThomasR09152848 @unlvpg Being able to create your own content is a fantastic way to avoid being pigeon holed into the same worksheets year after year. Websites like Kahoot and Quizzlet can also integrate technology into it while also making it interactive. #cit602 @unlvpg

After E3, I was inspired to make a few recordings and breakdowns of fighting games to show the mechanics and math for my students, but MKXL is too graphic. Any suggestions for fighting games with similar mechanics but less gore? #cit602

@reena5770 The elementary school beside my school does not integrate much technology into their lessons, and the middle school I work out also provides limited access to technology so I am unsure which programs or schools you are referring to. #cit602

So if elementary kids are learning the use of technology in such a collaborative and healthy sense, how is it that they are so “digitally aloof” by the time they come to high school? Where is the breakdown happening? It can’t all be hormones.#cit602

@DougSelf2 It is rather difficult attempting to promote the message that we should be less vicious online, as our commander in chief seems to use this website exclusively for that purpose. #cit602

vicious attack online, many times with Twitter. This has extended now all the way to the White House. In one of the videos a child said, "... don't say mean stuff, can hurt someone's feelings, and gotta be helpful." We see name calling and cyber bullying very #cit602

#cit602 'Life on the Screen' emphasizes the importance of visual literacy & that students should be able to pick up on the visual cues presented in media. This aligns with my practice in the classroom as students observe news & phenomena via video @unlvpg

The resources provided to us by @unlvpg have been incredible. UDL techtoolkit is a fantastic collection of websites that can assist in facilitating Universal Design for Learning without needing to buy subscriptions to costly sites. #cit602
