It was not just Trump who revealed himself yesterday. The total silence from @Keir_Starmer and his apology for a cabinet in the face of Trump's genocidal threat to Iran, even as they took immediate concrete action to ban Kanye West/Ye, reveals deep and profoundly troubling double standards. As we saw repeatedly with Gaza, the mass slaughter of Muslims really doesn't bother to our government; now even the threat of complete civilisational erasure is not worth a passing comment. Starmer just shrugged and let the B-52s take off with all their bombs primed and ready to drop on civilian targets. A total and irredeemable disgrace.

You come to the reluctant and sad conclusion that even a threat to wipe out a civilisation by an unhinged US President is still not enough to elicit any serious push back from the Prime Minister or his Cabinet. What have we become? theguardian.com/world/2026/apr…

We haven't been able to bring any supplies into Gaza, Palestine, since 1 January 2026, because Israeli authorities are blocking aid. Read from our medical adviser in Gaza about how this is affecting operations in our hospitals and clinics: msf.org/gaza-israeli-e…

Pauline Hanson has suddenly become the barometer of intelligence according to One Nation supporters on my feed. This is someone who called Trump “Senator,” struggled to pronounce Netanyahu, claimed Trump has “freed” Iranians by bombing them, (including schoolgirls) called for Australia to join an illegal war, couldn’t understand how submarines work while sitting on the Senate Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Legislation Committee, didn’t understand election promise costings, has been objectively found by Australian courts to be racist, and in 30 years has not introduced a single piece of successful legislation to fix one thing she’s spent three decades whingeing about. 9.1 million people watched a Rear Admiral have to school her on how submarines work when she sat on a defence and trade legislative committee. Yes-about defence! The bar for leadership is seriously underground for this lot. And One Nation supporters flooding my feed with insults and abuse. That’s all they’ve got. No argument. No facts. Just noise. The videos are doing the rounds. You’re welcome.

It’s been 456 days since Dr Hussam Abu Safiya, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, was arbitrarily detained by Israeli forces. He’s been held without charge or trial, and has been subjected to ill-treatment. Israeli authorities must immediately and unconditionally release him and all Palestinians held in arbitrary detention. The child who was subjected to torture (including having cigarettes extinguished on his body and a metal rod inserted into his feet in front of his father)— In a delayed video released by the occupation, the moment of his handover to the International Committee of the Red Cross is documented in the “Yellow Line” area east of Gaza, days after he was detained along with his father. During his detention, he was subjected to severe abuses, while his father remains imprisoned by the occupation to this moment.

They raped a man. They gang-raped him. They raped him so brutally that he had to be hospitalized. Doctors documented the injuries. The video of the assault was leaked. Now the rapists are free. This is not just unlawful and immoral. It is sick! #ThisIsIsrael

They gang-raped a Palestinian so brutally he was hospitalised. They did it on camera. When footage leaked, and the rapists were arrested, Israelis rioted to protect them. They said they had the right to rape. The Israeli lawyer who leaked the footage was arrested. This is Israel.

Moral double vision as Australia heads to the Gulf 'Suddenly we can send aircraft.Suddenly, we can send missiles.Suddenly, we can speak in the language of security and moral clarity. And suddenly the Middle East is not so far away after all. Because for the past year, Australians were told something very different. When Gaza was being destroyed, the message from Canberra was that Australia is merely a “middle power.” The conflict was distant. Complex. Beyond our ability to influence. There was little we could do.' 'The government hid behind diplomatic language. The opposition, particularly the louder voices inside the Liberal and National parties, went further. They condemned protests, dismissed criticism of Israel as extremist and opposed humanitarian pathways for Palestinians fleeing the destruction. In some cases, the rhetoric became openly hostile. Palestinian suffering was treated as a political inconvenience rather than a humanitarian catastrophe. And much of the media followed suit. Coverage of Gaza was often framed through the language of “complexity” and “balance.” Israeli security concerns were explored in depth, while Palestinian deaths were frequently reduced to statistics buried deep in reports. Calls for sanctions or stronger diplomatic pressure were portrayed as radical or irresponsible. Restraint became the narrative.' 'When Iranian repression or attacks on Gulf states dominate the headlines, the language of moral clarity suddenly returns. Victims are humanised. Outrage is expressed. The responsibility of democratic nations to respond is emphasised. But when Palestinian civilians were buried beneath rubble, when hospitals collapsed and children starved, the dominant tone was caution. One conflict is analysed with restraint. The other with urgency.Together, the political class and large parts of the media construct a quiet hierarchy of suffering. Some lives command outrage. Others barely command attention.' michaelwest.com.au/moral-double-v…

Jordan Valley Activists نشطاء غور الأردن
March 8, 2026 Morning --- "This is Area C, a military area, so you have to get out of here." "But we've been here for 50 years." "It's better for you to leave than for us to expel you." This conversation took place yesterday, between Col. Gilad Shriki, commander of the Valley Brigade, and members of one of the Palestinian shepherd communities in the northern Valley. Shriki knows exactly what he's talking about. He is responsible on the ground for carrying out the orders of the echelon above him, Brigadier General Oren Simkha, the commander of Central Command Major General Avi Bluth, and with the highest military authority, the Chief of Staff, Major General Eyal Zamir. When Shriki tells members of another community - the day will not be far when the Civil Administration will destroy the compound, here too, he knows what he is talking about. Shriki, like all of us, knows that the head of the Civil Administration, Brigadier General Hisham Ibrahim, is carrying out the orders of Minister Smotrich and he has already made his goal clear more than once - as much territory with as few Palestinians as possible. Everyone in the chain of execution of the orders is "just carrying out orders." But Shriki's smile betrays his mind and intentions. How can I help you? He asks with sweet lips. I don't want there to be clashes, I know this is your territory and I will make sure there are no clashes. He said this sentence to the community that is being attacked with severe violence by Settlers who come every night and throw large stones into houses, break solar panels, destroy the local school and all this in front of the eyes of the soldiers who sit in the nearby military base. Needless to say, there are no Jewish detainees, ever. There are Palestinian detainees, every day, Col. Shriki "takes care" of you... Hello, how long have you lived here? I have been in this place for 23 years, I came from a nearby community, where I was born. Where do you herd your flock? There on the hill, by the house. There is a firing zone. It is forbidden. If you have another place to go, maybe Tammun, go wherever you want. Go away from here, you will be better off. It is a shame for your children. It is difficult here. It is not difficult for us, we want to live here on our land. What a waste of your money and time. This is Area C, this is all Israel. Deprivation of livelihood. Deprivation of education. Transfer. Ethnic cleansing. "Cleansing the area". Ghettos. Remind us what the next stage is? And what is the "Complete Victory" or the "Final Solution"?

My @CNN interview on the still raw grief and anger after the massacre in Bondi. It's vital to utterly refute the dishonest conflation between supporting Palestine and anti-Semitism. Anti-semitism is a vile disease and must be fought 110%. But opposing Israel's endless colonisation of the West Bank and Gaza is an absolute necessity.

In Dec ‘23 I shared a @hrw post on Israel using starvation as a tool of war. ABC blamed it for my firing. In March ‘24 ICJ warned of widespread famine ordering Israel to let food in. In April ‘25 Israel still starves Gaza. Hindsight? I’d share my original post again. And again.
