Unfortunately this is all spectacularly based and funny, and if he'd been like this the entire time, he wouldn't have had half of the problems he does

Starmer is the final boss of cancel culture, and demonstrates that if you just say "no" and lock yourself in your office, all the emails and petitions and dossiers will mean nothing. He's like Bartleby crossed with Stalin crossed with Savonarola. They'll have to dismantle the entire apparatus of "procedure" and bureaucracy itself to unseat him: perhaps he is a secret admirer of Ivan Illich!

Terence Tao - "AI tools are like taking a helicopter to drop you off at the site. You miss all the benefits of the journey itself. You just get right to the destination, which actually was only just a part of the value of solving these problems."
Judit Polgar - "I always felt that intuition is very important in chess, but I get my intuition through my experience. And many times I think that this is the biggest danger for youth, that they don't have the experience because they don't spend enough time doing."
Elites from two different fields voice the same opinion.

@AmadeusBolshev This statement is true for many philosophers but it has never been more true for two philosophers than Karl Marx & Friedrich Nietzsche.

@TuckerCarlson I am one of the students from Cambridge that was there when Charlie Kirk came. There is much you are unaware of

Homes are usually known to be places you don’t live in, purchased solely for real-speculation
Reem Ibrahim@ReemAmirIbrahim
An elected politician, standing outside of a law-abiding person's home, demonising them because they are successful. So creepy and weird.

Fisher did more here in triangulating D&G, Baudrillard, and Jameson than anyone prior (and arguably since) has ever done.
comes pre installed w Gibson, Ballard, McLuhan, Carpenter references, … I think Nick just knows he never has, nor ever will top this text.
bogna@bognamk
If an AI were drawn to Fisher, why that book? Why not Flatline Constructs, his thrilling, horrific, ecstatic philosophy of flatlining, going dead, going online; a philosophy of the annihilation of humanist conceptions of selfhood?

@xenocosmography @dev_null321 @virotechnics Mr Land, Mark was making the point that capital is created the conditions for these behaviours. He was not advocating for suicide and depression as something to be pursued.
Confidence of the act, pessimism of the intellect was his thing.
English

@dev_null321 @virotechnics MF in fact systematically attributed his depression to capitalism, and argued that to do otherwise was to fall prey to individualizing and naturalizing 'capitalist realism.' It's literally there in his late writings.
English

@CDMorlock @xenocosmography It’s time to retire unc. I’m not about to let Nick Land, who know lives a pitiful existence in light of his pathetic drug-burn out, sully the legacy of Mark Fisher.
It must indeed be depressing for Land to realise that the protagonist of his cosmology doesn’t favour him. 😕
English

@angelofcode1 @xenocosmography The entire project of western Marxism is a pathology that aims to return to Gentile's philosophy. Fisher was both part of it and realized this.

@CDMorlock @xenocosmography What does it have to do with Mark Fisher?
English

@angelofcode1 @xenocosmography It means what I said. Pathology.
English

@CDMorlock @xenocosmography What does this even mean wrt Mark Fisher?
English

@xenocosmography Western Marxism is actual idealism in disguise.
