It's laughable how Dhurandhar fans think Aditya Dhar is some genius who has made his name in the international cinema circuit with Dhurandhar and its sequel. Shows how little they know about cinema. Nobody can deny this fact that Dhurandhar 2 will be the highest grosser film in Hindi cinema. But that doesn't mean Aditya Dhar will be someone who will inspire filmmakers across countries. Martin Scorcese, Christopher Nolan, Wes Anderson have all admitted to be influenced by Satyajit Ray's cinema. A chase scene in Anurag Kashyap's Black Friday inspired Danny Boyle to include a similar chase sequence in Slumdog Millionaire. This is what influence means when your work inspires filmmakers across countries. To even imagine that Aditya Dhar's work would even enter these circuits is laughable. No matter how much crores you earn.

I finally watched Dhurandhar 2 (The Revenge), and here are my honest thoughts that which none one asked for but still I will express. First of all, it makes little sense to compare Part 1 with Part 2. From what it feels like, the second part was not originally planned but was created because the story was too large to fit into a single film. Splitting it into two parts actually worked well, and credit goes to the editors because the transition never feels awkward or forced. I also liked that the film begins by showing who Jaskirat Singh Rangi really is. Establishing the main character backstory early is important because audiences naturally want to understand the character before the events begin to unfold. I am glad that decision made to put in the start so that the narrative is easier to follow. When the film talks about the “Unknown Men,” I was particularly interested in how closely it would mirror real-life figures involved in counter-terror operations. I was glad to see that Aditya Dhar’s team created characters that strongly resemble real personalities. From Zahoor Mistry to Major Iqbal, who clearly seems inspired by Ilyas Kashmiri, and even the portrayal resembling Dawood Ibrahim (checked the latest available image of him on the internet), the casting felt carefully thought out. Kudos to the casting director for getting this right. Some people say the first half is slow and that the film only picks up in the second half, but I disagree. The first half is crucial because it builds the context and explains why the eliminations in the second half happen. You simply cannot start eliminating targets without first establishing the background and motivations. The performances were outstanding overall, but my two absolute standouts were Ranveer Singh and Rakesh Bedi. Ranveer Singh delivers an incredible range of emotions, from a ruthless operative to a vulnerable and a heartbroken son. It is a powerful performance and arguably one of the finest in modern Bollywood. On the other hand, Rakesh Bedi’s comic timing and dialogues bring moments of relief and balance to an otherwise intense narrative. I am still unsure how certain real-life references like demonetization or the money-laundering networks linked to figures like Atiq Ahmed and how it connects directly to the broader “Unknown Men” narrative and RAW operations (guess we will never be able to know the reality). However, introducing these elements does make the world of the film feel more exciting and believable because we all have seen these events on TV in the past. The final moments of the film really stayed with me. When Jaskirat/Hamza returns home (without revealing too much), I found myself thinking less about the main character and more about the real “Unknown Men” the film represents. The people who leave behind their families, personal ambitions, and normal lives to quietly serve the nation. Many of them operate not only in Pakistan but across the world, working day and night to neutralize threats before they ever reach India. Their sacrifices are something we should always remain grateful for. Yes, the music in Part 1 was slightly stronger, but I honestly did not miss Akshaye Khanna or any other element from the first film. The story is gripping enough to keep you engaged from start to finish. Aditya Dhar deserves immense credit for the level of detail he has brought to this film. He has attempted something rarely seen in Bollywood, telling a story that feels grounded in reality while still delivering powerful cinematic emotion. It is possibly one of the most convincing portrayals of covert operations ever attempted in Indian cinema. If given the chance, this is definitely a film I would watch multiple times. It is absolutely worth revisiting. #Dhurandhar2

I called Aditya Dhar a BJP propagandist 3 months ago. Now everyone will see it. It was subtle in the previous film, but he went so blatant this time in overconfidence. Remember how I said, well-made propaganda is more dangerous? Ab toh well-made bhi nahi raha. Lol

CHEAPO KING | Sachin Tendulkar was in Delhi yesterday inviting political leaders for his son Arjun’s wedding and shared photos from the meetings. He posted his picture with Modi at 7:13 PM, with Amit Shah at 8:18 PM, with Honourable President Smt. Droupadi Murmu at 8:48 PM, and with @RahulGandhi at 9:22 PM. Among all these, the post with Rahul Gandhi went viral, clocking 627K views in just over two hours. Apparently, that did not go down well with the King. The King’s men allegedly pressured Sachin to delete the post and quietly repost it at 12:19 AM, when most people are asleep, hoping it would not attract the same traction. But by then, people had already noticed. If someone sitting in the highest chair in the country feels insecure over social media views, it is not strength. It is deep insecurity dressed up as power.

If our delivery partners were the only ones breaking traffic rules, I would take the blame. A large number of Indians are always in a rush and breaking traffic rules. What's their "10 minute" incentive to do that? Nothing. We are impatient on the road as a society. Let me explain why you usually only notice our delivery partners break traffic rules? Because they are wearing uniforms, and you have a bias against platforms to attribute their behaviour to. But when someone without a uniform breaks traffic rules, you usually don't remember it later, because you don't have any brand/platform to attribute it to.

One more thing. Our 10 minute delivery promise is enabled by the density of stores around your homes. It’s not enabled by asking delivery partners to drive fast. Delivery partners don’t even have a timer on their app to indicate what was the original time promised to the customer. After you place your order on Blinkit, it is picked and packed within 2.5 minutes. And then the rider drives an average of under 2kms in about 8 minutes. That's an average of 15kmph. I understand why everybody thinks why 10 minutes must be risking lives, because it is indeed hard to imagine the sheer complexity of the system design which enables quick deliveries. Also, if you've ever wanted to know why millions of Indians voluntarily take up platform work and sometimes even prefer it to regular jobs, JUST ASK any rider partner when you get your next food or grocery order. You will be humbled by how rational and honest they will be with you. Having said that, no system is perfect, and we are all for making it better than today. However, it is far from what it is being portrayed on social media by people who don't understand how our system works and why. If I were outside the system, I would also believe that gig workers are being exploited, but that's not true.
