FN-chefen @CarlSkau i Ekots lördagsintervju idag. Om Gaza: ”Det är ett helvete. Barn som svälter till döds. Tusentals barn som driver runt utan sina föräldrar. Anarki, kaos. Dessutom fördrivs människor igen. De har redan flyttat kanske 20-30 gånger.” sverigesradio.se/play/avsnitt/2…

❌️ BREAKING! ❌️ At least 114 Palestinian children were killed in Gaza with SINGLE GUNSHOT to head/chest, consistent with shooting aimed to kill. A genocide unfolding everyday under our eyes. Will Israel ever be held accountable? And when will the killing machine be stopped?

Devastating new investigation by Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant: 15 international doctors report at least 114 Palestinian children with single gunshot wounds to head/chest—injuries forensic experts say are consistent with aimed fire. (Photo: Mira, 4 years old)

1/2 theguardian.com/world/2025/sep…

Civilians in Gaza are facing yet another deadly escalation. Israel’s announcement of its intention to occupy Gaza City signals a new and dangerous phase. Hundreds of thousands of civilians would be forced to flee yet again, plunging families into even deeper peril. This must stop. There is no military solution to the conflict.

Children in #Gaza have been killed while sleeping, sheltering in schools, and queuing for water. In total, more than 50,000 children have reportedly been killed or injured since October 2023, according to @UNICEF. As Israeli military operations intensify, families are trapped or forced to flee again with nowhere safe to go. Children urgently need a #CeasefireNow

Famine is confirmed by @theIPCinfo in #Gaza City and the surrounding areas. They project that famine will spread further south by the end of September. This is man-made. For almost 6 months the Israeli Authorities have critically restricted food and other essential goods—including water, medicine, shelter and fuel. The Gaza Famine is the world’s famine. A preventable, predictable famine.

Enough. Ceasefire. Open all crossings, north and south. Let us get food in, unimpeded and at massive scale.

Amnesty strongly condemns Israel’s deliberate killing of journalists in an air strike on a media tent in occupied Gaza City. Anas al-Sharif and his colleagues have been the eyes and voices of Gaza. Starved and exhausted, they continued to bravely report from the frontlines, despite death threats and immense grief. No conflict in modern history has seen a higher number of journalists killed than Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. There must be an independent and impartial investigation into the killings of Palestinian journalists, with justice and full reparation for their families. States must urgently act to bring an end to Israel’s genocide now.

Jag scrollar och scrollar men namnen på döda barn tar aldrig slut. 18.500 barn uppges ha dödats i Gaza. Nu publicerar Washington Post deras namn. En lika delar imponerande som fruktansvärd journalistisk kartläggning. washingtonpost.com/world/interact…

Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. It sounds inconceivable. But it’s the truth. Israel is taking deliberate, coordinated action to destroy the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Explicit statements by Israeli officials, combined with a consistent policy of destructive attacks and other practices of annihilation, prove beyond a doubt that Israel’s target is the entire population of Gaza. Entire cities razed to the ground; medical, educational, religious and cultural infrastructure systematically destroyed; 2 million Palestinians forcibly displaced with the aim of expelling them from Gaza; and, of course, mass starvation and killing - all this amounts to an explicit attempt to destroy the population of Gaza and impose living conditions so catastrophic that Palestinian society cannot continue to exist there. That is the exact definition of genocide. The report we are releasing today is a warning: The ideology driving the Israeli regime is not confined to Gaza. The same regime, the same army, the same leaders and the same commanders are implementing extremely violent practices against Palestinians in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and within Israel. We are already witnessing the spillover of practices Israel is using in Gaza to other areas - on a different scale, but guided by the same logic. In the West Bank, this is taking the form of airstrikes, demolition of refugee camps, mass evictions, and the deliberate destruction of Palestinian economy and society. No Palestinian who lives under the genocidal Israeli regime is safe. There is no justification for genocide – not “self-defense”, not “security”, and not the heinous acts committed by Hamas on October 7, 2023, which triggered profound existential fear among Israelis. The international community has not only failed in its duty to stop the atrocities, but the leaders of the Western world, particularly the United States and Europe, also share responsibility by providing support that enables Israel’s acts of destruction. It is the duty of the international community to stop the genocide Israel is carrying out in Gaza. On social media, we are seeing footage of people buried under bombed-out buildings, displaced persons’ camps on fire, children starving, people desperate for water, and hospitals left unable to treat the injured and the sick. As a human rights organization it is our duty and responsibility to say the truth: Genocide is happening, right here and right now. This is our genocide, and we need to stop it. #Gaza: airdrops will not reverse the deepening starvation. They are expensive, inefficient & can even kill starving civilians. It is a distraction & screensmoke. A manmade hunger can only be addressed by political will. Lift the siege, open the gates & guarantee safe movements + dignified access to people in need. Allow the U.N. including @UNRWA & our partners to operate at scale & without bureaucratic or political hurdles. At UNRWA, we have the equivalent of 6,000 trucks in Jordan & Egypt waiting for the green light to get into Gaza. Driving aid through is much easier, more effective, faster, cheaper & safer. It’s more dignified for the people of #Gaza. Finally, airdrops will not prevent aid diversion, principled humanitarian assistance will. It reaches those in need. The latest USAID report confirms that there is no “so called” systemic diversion of aid provided by the humanitarian community in Gaza.

Dropping food from the air in Gaza is an ineffective sideshow. During my time as UN relief chief we had to stop such aid. Minimal amounts were delivered and chaos and accidents occurred on the ground. All entries into Gaza have to be opened and distribution handed back to UN.

I have never felt so shaken. Children are dying of hunger. Falling one after another, like petals of a dying flower. Under our watch. How do you sleep, Presidents, Foreign Ministers, political leaders, diplomats, civil servants - doing nothing to stop Israel’s starvation campaign? PS: Talking politics while dodging genocide perfectly meets the definition of doing nothing.

The sheer intellectual collapse you have to experience to be faced with 122 international aid organisations telling you the same thing... ISRAEL IS STARVING GAZANS... only to decide they are ALL lying & that actually Benjamin Netanyahu, on trial for fraud, is telling the truth.

“People in Gaza are neither dead nor alive, they are walking corpses”: a colleague in #Gaza told me this morning. Meanwhile, according to @UNRWA latest findings: one in every five children is malnourished in Gaza City as cases increase every day. When child malnutrition surges, coping mechanisms fail, access to food & care disappears, famine silently begins to unfold. Most children our teams are seeing are emaciated, weak & at high risk of dying if they don’t get the treatment they urgently need. More than 100 people, the vast majority of them children, have reportedly died of hunger. This deepening crisis is affecting everyone, including those trying to save lives in the war-torn enclave. UNRWA frontline health workers, are surviving on one small meal a day, often just lentils, if at all. They are increasingly fainting from hunger while at work. When caretakers cannot find enough to eat, the entire humanitarian system is collapsing. Parents are too hungry to care for their children. Those who reach UNRWA clinics don’t have the energy, food, or means to follow medical advice. Families are no longer coping, they are breaking down, unable to survive. Their existence is threatened. Allow humanitarian partners to bring unrestricted & uninterrupted humanitarian assistance to Gaza. We, at UNRWA, have the equivalent of 6,000 loaded trucks of food & medical supplies in Jordan and Egypt.
