@lauren_huttner This is why I like getting on 10-min calls with each creator before on-boarding
I always ask what format they like the most and what has performed best for them, to gauge both skillset and creativity
Also makes creators feel seen and they get more invested

The core of founder-led marketing is showing the manifestation of your customers beliefs.
And then the conversion is giving them an easy way to act on their beliefs.
In our case, customers go to Gallop to shop from local small businesses with same-day delivery, so they don’t have to rely on convenience of Amazon and other corps that don’t align with their beliefs.

Being a marketplace founder for local small businesses is ruthless, yet so fun.
I get to work with neighborhood characters like Charlie, the owner of LA’s iconic shop Virgil Normal.
For any business to join your marketplace, trust must be built.
With Charlie, instead of pitching him metrics or even asking about his business, I asked him about his camera collection behind him, after spotting the same Rollie my grandpa had.
I learned what Charlie cared about, which was simply cool creations with cool stories behind them, the exact ethos of Gallop.
If you’re in LA, swing by Virgil Normal or order for same-day delivery in the Gallop app

Someone who deserves a ton of credit for kicking off this consumer app arc — not just for me, but for a shit ton of founders is @blakeandersonw.
He's the one who showed me (and likely a ton of successful app founders) the opportunity in AI + mobile + short-form.
Glam Up and Sprout don't exist if I never met him in 2024.
I typically don't do glazing lol, but you gotta give credit where it's due.

@elizalian When you focus on stores after food, hit up @nicolas_clar and I at Gallop. There’s a shopping experience waiting to explode on Corner 🧨

NEW: 50 empty Waymos invade Atlanta neighborhoods and circle their cul-de-sacs for hours early in the mornings.
Residents say they are getting waymo traffic than usual and have tried combating the cars with a neon green sign, which only made the problem worse.
The Waymos didn't know what to do and clogged the entire street.
"We have small animals and pets, got kids getting on the bus in the morning, and it just doesn’t feel safe to have that traffic," one resident said.
The residents say Waymo has not given them a response yet.

@MarcusMilione Real talk - how much do you think running and getting a clear mind from long runs has helped your business success?
I ran my first marathon last year and training clarified so much mental muck for me to get over

@philgcarter @calai_app @HeintzmanDaniel The app title on every page was lowkey the smallest but best move for visibility. Noticed that @cormachayden_ does that for Oasis too and they’re booming

How to make a competitor ad:
Show the top brand BUT
Don't name them.
Highlight their worst deficiency
And position your product's Unique Mechanism as the thing that solves it.
"American Mouthwash" = negative connotation.
Use "Japanese" instead (conveys quality)
Sweat Equity Podcast@onlysweatequity
The "competitor call-out" UGC format works because it hijacks existing trust: "Go after the big dog. He went after TheraBreath—didn't say TheraBreath. Just said, 'one of these American mouthwashes. The biggest one.'"
