@arithmancyprof Thanks for confirming. This service will be starting from Preston (not Edinburgh) due to a fault with the signalling system earlier today, but it is still scheduled to run from Wigan to Warrington at 19:31 - Sam

@CasioMaths , we've bought classwiz calculators for the department. What happened to the big display calculator you used to be able to get to put on the classroom wall? Not able to find it anywhere on the website 😞 .

What a great day at #MathsConf36 . Home now and replanning Mondays lessons so I can make use of all the great ideas I picked up today. Thanks to @LaSalleEd for all the help with my ICT issues and @taylorda01 for the use of his clicker.

@LaSalleEd Oh cool, this is the one I'm staying at. I have a MAT conference on Friday and I'm going to have a few drinks in London before heading to Sheffield. So I'll be very late to #mathsconf36 drinks - I'll arrive some time between 9.30pm and 10pm. But I will be there!

@MattTheApp That's great news @MattTheApp . Bet it's going to be amazing. I can't wait for the next one in the north west. PS You get hooked after delivering your first workshop! PPS Don't do what I did, which is fall the morning of and have to deliver your workshop with a broken thumb!

I was so excited about my first-ever #MathsConf35 experience that I signed up to present my own workshop. I can't wait to share how I've used mathswhiteboard.com this year to motivate my low-ability students. I'm also looking forward to networking with so many amazing people, thanks to @LaSalleEd.

@MathsSecondary One of my students told me today and said that she worked out her score after watching the video. Kind of takes away from results day, doesn't it?

@adamboxer1 Or, if you don't want to exclude, why not just build in a silent reflection time? Mumslin students can use it to pray, other students can use it to reflect, meditate etc? Wouldn't that be of benefit to mental health? I don't get why this can't be an option?

@runningstitch I teach it using a proportion table. It promotes a better understanding of the relationship between distance and time. Students quickly understand that they need to find the distance travelled in 1 time unit and work from there. Also stops nonsense like 50 mins is 0.5hr.
