@Brentley12 not that I disagree persay, but consensus is mostly based off of film though no? to me it seems that the highest potential of a player is still from the tape. if the guy has character concerns that would be a reason for them to go lower
English

The consensus board conversation is interesting. When I was scouting we never once looked at what media’s rankings were or cross referenced them with ours. Not saying right or wrong. But a team makes their board with much more than film. Character, medical, and scheme fit help shape the board which can’t necessarily be said for the media consensus board.
English

@NotSoAngryScout I think this is a misunderstanding of what the consensus board is
English

Not true. There is no consensus NFL board. All 32 teams have their own board. This is the media trying to make it seem their like outlet’s board is general market value.

The Jags, Texans and 49ers account for like 8 of the biggest dozen reaches in the draft. Kinda fascinating to see teams deviate from the consensus board this far again.

@dnightingaleee @nickwithsports but isn't it still a more premium position doesn't need to hit as high of a range to be worth more than a high range outcome for lower position
English

@nickwithsports @aromack71 Positional value seems out the window this draft with the lack of quality and the players that are viewed as a premium playing positions that aren't as valuable
English

@nickwithsports Oh I almost certain that's why it's the biggedt discussion this cycle. It seems like that was the known part is that it is weak but people have shifted away from it
English

@aromack71 For me it's more that this is one of the worst drafts I've ever scouted. I would prefer Caleb Downs, Sonny Styles, or Carnell Tate personally.
Have a feeling Tate & Styles don't make it to 7. I think Downs or Love will be their debate.
English

@reinhardNFL which is fascinating because I think overall the analytical approach still seems more wise. Even with the lions when they drafted good players that weren't at valuable positions (Campbell, Gibbs) they got good players but were not good for long and are now lacking at those key

The nerds have lost the battle for draft capital trade valuation. Teams really are not moving any closer to the outcome-based style of trade charts that analytics/cap experts have published in the last few years, and I’m not sure there has been enough introspection as to why

What are some draft myths/axioms you agree or disagree with?

Commanders Pro Bowl Lt Laremy Tunsil reached agreement on a 2-year, $60.2M contract extension with Washington, per his business manager Laolu Sanni of Divine Tree.
There are $61.5M in guarantees, including the biggest signing bonus for an offensive lineman at $32.5M. Tunsil was the NFL's 1st $20M per year offensive lineman. He was the league's 1st $25M per year offensive lineman and now the first $30M offensive lineman.

i know this was rage bait but i just wanna use it to make a point we don’t make enough: non-qb, jerry rice is, at worst, the second-best offensive player ever.
EddieLinks@Eddielinks_
You wouldn’t know Jerry Rice’s name if he played football today

@BleedinBnG he's got pretty clear reasoning for his votes, I disagree on them but I think he's not ridiculous for having them
