Had a telephone conversation this evening with my Dear Brother HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of Qatar, to express Pakistan’s strong solidarity with the brotherly people of Qatar. We strongly condemn the serious regional escalation from the Israeli attack on Iran earlier today, that was followed by the regrettable attacks against Qatar as well as in other Gulf countries. I reaffirmed Pakistan’s full solidarity with the brotherly State of Qatar. Pakistan will continue to support all efforts for peace and stability in the region.

The rapidly escalating hostilities between US-Israel and Iran are deeply concerning. The safety and security of every Indian citizen across the Middle East must be our highest priority. I urge the Government of India to take immediate and proactive measures to safeguard our people.

@WazirXIndia WazirX is a trash platform. First they fail to secure users’ crypto and blame “hackers” (still doubtful). Now they’re silently deducting monthly fees in the name of free trading—no consent, no notice. Low balance? They sell your assets. Zero ethics. Avoid at all cost

Today is the darkest day of my life. My beloved son, Agnivesh, left us far too soon. He was just 49 years old, healthy, full of life, and dreams. Following a skiing accident in the US, he was recovering well in Mount Sinai Hospital, New York. We believed the worst was behind us. But fate had other plans, and a sudden cardiac arrest snatched our son away from us. No words can describe the pain of a parent who must bid goodbye to his child. A son is not meant to leave before his father. This loss has shattered us in ways we are still trying to comprehend. I still remember the day Agni was born in Patna on 3 June, 1976. From a middle-class Bihari family, he grew into a man of strength, compassion, and purpose. The light of his mother’s life, a protective brother, a loyal friend, and a gentle soul who touched everyone he met. Agnivesh was many things - a sportsman, a musician, a leader. He studied at Mayo College, Ajmer, went on to set up one of the finest companies Fujeirah Gold, became Chairman of Hindustan Zinc, and earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike. Yet, beyond all titles and achievements, he remained simple, warm, and deeply human. To me, he was not just my son. He was my friend. My pride. My world. Kiran and I are broken. And yet, in our grief, we remind ourselves that the thousands of young people who work across Vedanta are also our children. Agnivesh believed deeply in building a self-reliant India. He would often say, “Papa, we lack nothing as a nation. Why should we ever be behind?” We shared a dream to ensure that no child sleeps hungry, no child is denied education, every woman stands on her own feet, and every young Indian has meaningful work. I had promised Agni that more than 75% of what we earn would be given back to society. Today, I renew that promise and resolve to live an even simpler life. There was so much life ahead of him. So many dreams yet to be lived. His absence leaves a void for his family and friends. We thank all his friends, colleagues and well-wishers for always being there for him. Beta, you will live on in our hearts, in our work, and in every life you touched. I do not know how to walk this path without you, but I will try carrying your light forward.

The behaviour of the SBI Branch Manager in Surya Nagara, Anekal Taluk refusing to speak in Kannada & English and showing disregard to citizens, is strongly condemnable. We appreciate SBI’s swift action in transferring the official. The matter may now be treated as closed. However, such incidents must not recur. All bank employees must treat customers with dignity and make every effort to speak in the local language. I urge the @FinMinIndia & Dept of Financial Services to mandate cultural and language sensitisation training for all bank staff across India. Respecting local language is respecting the people. #KannadaFirst

The 1971 war ended with the surrender of the Pakistan Army. However, the subsequent Simla Agreement was shaped under pressure from both Moscow and Washington, D.C. India released 99,000 prisoners of war without gaining a single strategic advantage—no insistence on Pakistan vacating PoJK or formalizing the border, and no reparations for the war or the refugee influx forced on India. Indira Gandhi was Prime Minister at the time. Stop peddling convenient narrative.
Jairam Ramesh@Jairam_Ramesh

This is Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's historic letter to President Nixon of Dec 12, 1971. Four days later Pakistan surrendered. She ensured that there was no "neutral site" which has now been agreed to.

#OperationSindoor

India has agreed to a ceasefire following a series of precise and decisive final strikes on key Pakistani air and military installations. The targets included: Nur Khan/Chaklala, Rafiqui, Murid, Sukkur, Sialkot, Pasrur, Chunian, Sargodha (Pakistan’s most sensitive airbase), Skardu (in Gilgit-Baltistan), Bholari and Jacobabad These coordinated strikes rendered Pakistan incapable of mounting any meaningful military response. While Pakistan did attempt retaliatory action, it failed to strike any targets within Indian territory. Prior to this, India had already conducted deep strikes on major Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad strongholds located in Pakistan and in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Shocked by the scale and precision of India’s response, Pakistan convened a meeting of its Nuclear Command Authority, only to realise that India was fully prepared for such an eventuality. The turning point came at 3:30pm today, when the Pakistani Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) called his Indian counterpart to convey that Pakistan would refrain from further strikes and formally requested a ceasefire. India accepted the offer, but only after announcing a revised war doctrine: henceforth, any future terrorist attack on Indian soil will be treated as an act of war. Importantly, the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty remains unchanged. India will continue to withhold hydrological data from Pakistan and move forward with water infrastructure projects on the three northern rivers. This has india’s dominance written all over it. Thank you, Prime Minister Modi, for making India proud. #OperationSindoor

“There are no terrorist camps in Pakistan” says Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tatar. I spoke to him as India fired missiles into Pakistani-controlled territory in several locations early Wednesday. India says it is targeting “terrorist infrastructure”.
