@bradloncar @BiotechTV We had an incredible turnout and set of speakers from the Boston biotech community showcasing the agents they’ve built for drug development. Thank you @pillar_vc @madelynheart_ @bradloncar, stay tuned for the next event!

𝐎𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚: Great event this afternoon at @pillar_vc in Boston on how agentic AI is changing the way R&D and drug development are done. Thank you to Madelyn Heart and Pillar for hosting, and to all of the great speakers! Reach out to @ashokaraj_ to learn more.

For the last two decades, biopharma moved its R&D workflows from paper to cloud based systems of record (ELN, LIMS, EDC, etc). This was a major step forward for data quality and compliance. However, it was evolutionary rather than transformative.

Was such a joy to write this series with @ashokaraj_ and the Orchestra.bio team! Over the next six weeks, we'll be sharing deep dives on how agentic AI is transforming every corner of the biopharma industry, from company strategy to clinical development. Stay tuned! Link below :)
Ashoka Rajendra@ashokaraj_

So how should we define an agent, and where are agents poised to make the biggest impact in biopharma R&D? Check out the first post in our series here: orchestra.bio/blog/from-pape…

@treypicou @ChrisHayduk I also think discovery is more accessible by virtue of being able to see it in universities and it being published, whereas everything between discovery and FDA approval is trade secrets inside private companies until an approved drug pops out

@ChrisHayduk Yeah I think you're spot on. It's certainly more measurable, cooler, and a direct application of sweet technology than being like, "Hell yeah boys, saved 20% of a process engineer FTE." Pour one out for the unsexy stuff

i wonder if bio ai is over indexed on discovery because the SV biotech companies are all doing discovery and aren’t shipping or manufacturing therapeutics

@AlecStapp It does in fact get better. I wonder how these "drones" fly, get their targeting information, etc

@eric_is_weird A lot of tech people conflate margins with complexity and would like to believe they’re working on an intrinsically harder problem than someone being paid less than them. Most software people also have no intuition around physical sciences. Housing costs make it worse

Is there an obvious reason that when I mention working on the coolest technical problems often entails a very steep pay cut... A) Quant traders think that's apparent B) SF tech people often push back. They agree to a point, but many strongly push back at some number, e.g. $150k

𝐎𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚: Today @bradloncar visited our newest sponsor, Orchestra. He saw how the product works, visited with Orchestra’s founder @ashokaraj_, and filmed content you will be seeing on BiotechTV over the coming weeks. Orchestra helps manage the business of science.

The craziest thing about all of this AI craziness is that if Google launched a Google Workspace tier that included some insane Gemini usage + all the same enterprise workspace features as Claude, it would not surprise me if they flipped the entire market overnight

The gap between Anthropic’s market share and their perceived place in the marketplace is off the charts:

Alila Ventana Big Sur is a great Hyatt redemption at 45k points and an easy escape from SF ~3-hour drive, last hour is the most beautiful drive in America. Redwoods, ocean views, baths, good meals included. IMO not worth the $2k+ cash price but 45k pts is a steal.

Can't wait until someone makes a version of Claude Code that's accessible to someone without a technical background A work friend showed me what CC can do and then I tried it myself, read this thread...and I don't understand how to implement any of it
Boris Cherny@bcherny

I'm Boris and I created Claude Code. I wanted to quickly share a few tips for using Claude Code, sourced directly from the Claude Code team. The way the team uses Claude is different than how I use it. Remember: there is no one right way to use Claude Code -- everyones' setup is different. You should experiment to see what works for you!

There really needs to be a venture firm dedicated to life sciences technology / tech bio. It's a middle ground that isn't perfectly serviced by biotech funds who make some platform investments or digital health funds that are spanning payer / provider as well as pharma / cro
