@MihirkJha Had the same experience last time in Harmandar Sahib, Amritsar. One religious place that I used to feel peace at. Same policing about photos, smiling in photos, etc.

If your child becomes a reader, about 80% of the education job is already done. That's my honest assessment after working in education for over thirty years. Everything else is secondary. Most parents think science education is important. Yes it is. But if you can't read the biology textbook, you're not going to learn biology. Reading is the meta-skill that enables all other skills. History requires reading. Science requires reading. Even math increasingly requires reading as it becomes more sophisticated. The child who reads voraciously will figure out everything else. The child who doesn't will struggle with everything.

The biggest signal that AGI is coming for your jobs is that even the stalwarts of the industry are pivoting away to careers in like fashion influencer. Don't go by what they say (AGI won't kill SaaS). Go by what they do. (Trying to create alternative career at this age). /s

Stepped out for a beer with a friend last evening. Bespoke white Indian Cotten crew neck (The Sawyer) and the linen foundation jacket (The Conrad) from @thelayerproject ; pants a really cheap “jeans cloth” pants I got stitched from a Chembur tailor. Added the orange shoes as a way to add color. Perfect for the nippy mumbai Jan weather. I can sleep in this outfit because everything is made to fit. What would you change?

Oh wow. 14 years is a great number btw. I am quite surprised by the longevity now. Well, that's what makes it "worth it" I believe. On the comfort side, it puts lots of Adidas and Nike to shame. I am planning to get a pair myself, will look around. Tried the without shoelaces one?

So my first Onitsuka Tiger is here 👟😍 Took the Mexico 66 SD VINtage, super comfortable and lightweight, switching to these from Adidas Samba. Still doesn’t justify the 18.5k price imo, but as a ccgeek these are those rare high-value swipes without double dips or discounts, just base rewards with MB. Which Onitsuka do you have or is there something better you’d recommend?

@get2maanas @smartspendcode No. For me the sole was the first to chip off from the side. The top is in great condition. This is after almost 14 years but with very infrequent usage. Mexico 66.

I always had a question regarding OT. Does the toe top develop cracks over the time (let's say few months) due to mild to moderate usage? I'm not implying frequent usage as these luxury gems are rarely worn on certain occasions. Just wanted to understand if the pricing gives a better use case yield.

Despite CCTV clearly showing that the SDM assaulted pump staff for not giving his car priority, and for no other reason, the SDM’s wife has filed sexual harassment complaints against them. "Mere ko aankh maari." "Bola kya maal lag rahi hai." There will be no proof for these fabricated claims, but the law is such that even unverified accusations can ruin the lives of powerless people. Using sexual harassment as a tool for personal vendetta only trivialises a grave issue. Over time, this not only harms the innocent accused but also undermines the fight against actual harassment. Nowadays, people don’t blindly believe a woman claiming sexual harassment, who’s to blame, if not the fake cases?

@kaju_katli15 @SecularTrainee Very very common in Delhi. Cant climb 4 floors multiple times a day. In fact a lot of south Delhi houses have separate lifts for each floor opening into the lobbies of the houses.

DLF Emporio & The Chanakya Together have More Luxury Sales than Jio World Plaza, Palladium, UB City and other malls of Bangalore, Mumbai etc combined. Delhi is the only place where a lot of people actually buy & wear Real Luxury clothing or Accessories. Black Friday Sales at Emporio go crazy every time. I ensure I am there to buy Luxury Mostly in Mumbai only Celebs or Some Uber rich wear the Gucci’s or Prada’s or Hermes but in Delhi Authentic Luxury is very common. I myself have so many High end Garments. Delhi people Splurge on Shopping High End. You see Luxury in real life. People wearing 40k basic round neck tees to 2 lakh shirts is extremely common.

India's luxury capital isn't Bangalore's tech hub or Mumbai's billionaire row, but a 5 sq km diplomatic accident in South Delhi Bangalore has 12,000+ dollar millionaires Mumbai has 92 billionaires Yet 40%+ of India's luxury retail, Hermès, Chanel, Rolex clusters, in just two locations that lies in one place: South Delhi's diplomatic belt It defies every rule of retail economics. Luxury typically follows wealth and depth of consumption, rather than bureaucratic zoning Delhi began with neither In 1953, India designated Chanakyapuri as an area for embassies. The UK got the first pick. The US got the second. Wide avenues. Strict zoning. Zero commercial chaos. Embassies brought diplomats. Diplomats brought international footfall. International footfall attracted exclusivity By 2008, DLF bet on this frozen geography. Emporio opened in Vasant Kunj, 2 km from the diplomatic core. 70 international brands. Armani, Cartier, Dior settled in. Not solely because of wealth, but also because of proximity to power The Chanakya followed in 2018. Opposite the Chanakyapuri Post Office, you can find Hermès' flagship store and North India's only Rolex Boutique. Events for ambassadors became brand strategy Today, South Delhi houses DLF Emporio (170 brands) and The Chanakya (50+ luxury brands), comprising 200+ stores within a 5 sq km area. Due to this oddity, North India holds 40% of India's $10 Bn luxury market No wonder Delhi ranked 1 in luxury spending, ahead of Mumbai Mumbai has wealth, Bangalore has new money, but they lack what 70 years of a diplomatic zoning accident created Artificial scarcity and imported legitimacy powers luxury

One thing is clear we Indians often end up harassing foreigners who visit our country. Being a Sikh myself, I feel what that sewadar did was completely wrong. Does he really have the audacity to stop Punjab’s politicians when they walk in with full camera crews, even filming inside the Golden Temple? Why do we always act this way with outsiders? Instead, we should let our culture and sacred places be seen and appreciated across the world. The person didn’t harm anyone or say anything against our religion yet, unfortunately, this is how we reacted!🙏🏻

I am not a religious person or somebody too big on family traditions. I left my parents home many years ago . But there are certain non negotiable traditions I still believe in and one of them is that you always come home on Diwali . Whatever your definition of home is . Your home , your parents home , whatever. And that’s why I don’t get people going on vacations on Diwali break . I mean you don’t keep your home dark and unattended on Diwali atleast

Yesterday, we went to a Michelin-starred Indian restaurant featuring cuisine from Odisha. The food was amazing! We usually keep our expectations low for Indian restaurants outside India, but they completely exceeded them. The place was recommended to us by a couple we met at another restaurant they happen to be the richest couple in our area and we talked non-stop about food and travel.
