@BobbyCass88 @DeruyterStan @ST_Vinc3nt @FurkanGozukara Wrong, the blades are carbon fiber, and if they were rotating at impact with the ground, CF propellers shatter, this is classic melting of CF under high heat. Props are also feathered, another indicator they weren't spinning.
English

@DeruyterStan @ST_Vinc3nt @FurkanGozukara The picture of that propeller clearly shows that it was rotating. No way a propeller looks like that other than from a crash where it kept rotating
English

not necessarily, it's just that a lot of the newer chasers, (and not necessarily just young ones) are driving recklessly to do anything for the great live shot for their stream, trying to get engagement and views. So many people in so many different professions and even life in general just don't seem to care about their impact on those around them, and seek the social media rewards.
English

@JordanHallWX @ChasingWConnor agree! Take care of your body first!
English

@ChasingWConnor Gotta take care of that ACL bro. It’s insane it’s gone this long without surgery
English

@skyechannelwrx @thejasonhowell @PappenheimWx Our township EMA works closely with the area PD's and FD's, and respond to all accidents and structure fire calls Dr for traffic control, lighting, support with clean up, etc. In addition to normal EMA duties.
English

@asmolenski @thejasonhowell @PappenheimWx im honestly amazed that your EMAs are allowed to use flashing lights at all. i don't think any EMA here in Florida is allowed to use any flashing lights, except maybe amber (but even then im unsure)
Florida is VERY strict about flashing lights here (1/2)
English

@JordanHallWX Welcome to Illinois, our weather does whatever the heck it wants... LOL
English

All of us watching the supercell keep producing “tornado imminent” wall clouds today and not produce.
#ilwx #wxtwitter
English

@thejasonhowell @PappenheimWx Ah, yup, makes sense on that then, darn, was gonna push for red lights for our EMA.
English

@asmolenski @PappenheimWx That’s for vehicles literally owned by said EMA. and the vehicles owned by the local EMA are so equipped.
volunteers and their POVs are restricted to blue. and white.

English

If none of them out there do, that's kind of funny then! LOL, Shit, they're supposed to! Our township EMA got a ton of grants and funding, so they have a TON of vehicles that most POVs are non-existent now. (and not really trying to argue with you, just can't stand when first responders abuse their privileges for personal gain, paints us all in a bad light if things go wrong)
From subsection C pertaining to when blue lights in POVs are allowed:
8. Vehicles operated by a local or county emergency
management services agency as defined in the Illinois Emergency Management Agency Act, when used in combination with red oscillating, rotating, or flashing lights.
English

@asmolenski @PappenheimWx Tell me what township EMA would let me run reds I’ll join up
English

@DrChrisCombs I remember being at the press site for Discoveries final launch and seeing the helicopters with these guys sitting on the edges, with their rifles slung in front. Cool to see.
English

@thejasonhowell @PappenheimWx We work close with our township EMA, EMA POVs requires Red and Blue oscillating lights.
English

If you were dispatched out, and your dept considers that an emergency call, then yes, you'd be covered under the statue, but ONLY if you are acting in the capacity of a firefighter storm spotting per dispatch. If they are using it to take advantage of the benefit and storm chase and get better vantage for their personal YouTube channel or whatever, than no, that should be looked into as violating the rules. Seen too many people over decades abuse their blue light privileges and even nearly cost lives in wrecks and shit. I've had a fellow firefighter nearly take me out when responding to a call when he blew a red and nearly rolled his jeep because he thought the blues gave him immunity, and others that would flip them on to take advantage of 'clearing' traffic cause they're in a hurry home.
English

@asmolenski @PappenheimWx I don’t have the mental stamina for my first weather twitter fight.
There were tornado and t-storm warnings all over the place.
They’re used within the rules we’re given by our director - which is stationary only.
English

That's stretching the interpretation, I was a POC here in IL and could use the Blues, storm spotting wasn't considered an emergency. Now, if they responded to an accident, or tornado damage, etc. while spotting then yes, they can turn them on, but just spotting no, it's NOT an emergency call. Our waivers were very specific.
English

@asmolenski @BrandonTPack @PappenheimWx Technically its considered storm spotting for the fire department (if that is what he is doing) which means depending on the county they allow them to use their lights as caution. However if he isnt storm spotting for the fire department, that's what makes it illegal
Noble, OK 🇺🇸 English

@mahfl22 @TheSilverHorsey @JordanHallWX @NickGormanWX Reds and Blues in vehicles are illegal in Illinois except for actual emergency vehicles. Volunteer FFs can use Blues, and EMA can use reds/blue, but ONLY when responding to an actual dispatched emergency.
English

Very close to a fatal accident if someone were in that oncoming lane. My god
Nick Gorman@NickGormanWX
Caught this on my livestream about 10 minutes ago. Unsure if it was a chaser but we checked on the driver. Happened outside Rushville IL
English

@BrandonTPack @MCSStorms @PappenheimWx Yup, but Volunteer Firefighters CAN have blue lights, but are ONLY allowed to use them when responding directly to an emergency call. I will bet this is a volunteer FF using his POV to storm chase and misusing his blue lights.
English

@MatthewCappucci Not large enough of a town to support those chains, especially being between Springfield and Bloomington. There are a lot of small ma and pa joints around that stretch with good food though.
English

@Vannaweh @sunnyright except they're not landing on the moon
English

@sunnyright Qualified? Sure. But it shouldn't be overlooked that he was selected specifically because he's black. Years before crew selection, NASA specifically announced its plan to land the first woman and "person of color" on the moon.
