really excited to finally announce a product i've been heads-down on for a while!! we raised to make this real, and the sdk drops soon. introducing soft-machine, a vm-based cloud OS/IDE where agents and humans share the same dev environment. every workspace is a dedicated vm. tile panels like i3 in your browser, whether it's code, terminals, browsers, physics sims, or anything! share a workspace and another human or agent is in there with you, live. one person should be able to oversee dozens of agents at once with full visibility. agent turns survive disconnects, you can clone a workspace to branch reality, and the whole thing is extensible, every "app" is just panels registered by a plugin. it's early, it's rough, but it's fun! come hang with us → discord.gg/softmachine

4 engineers who shaped modern software. You get 1 as your mentor for a year. Pick one. -DHH (creator of Ruby on Rails, CTO of 37signals) -John Carmack (creator of Doom, ex-CTO Oculus) -Linus Torvalds (creator of Linux & Git) -Guillermo Rauch (CEO of Vercel, creator of Next.js) Who are you picking, and why?

Your "stealth" browser fakes a GPU and it gets detected by pixels. Antibot scripts draw test scenes through WebGL and Canvas APIs, then read back the pixel output. They're checking the rendered pixels, not your spoofed renderer string. Fake GPU = SwiftShader. String says NVIDIA. But pixels say software. Detected. GPU-over-IP forwards calls from a CPU-only machine to a real GPU over TCP. Real hardware, real pixels. You can fake the string. You can't fake the pixels.

@CustomWetware Sure. When someone builds that, let me know. Real hardware eliminates the differences entirely. That's the point.

I wanted to do some clever floating point stuff for the raytracer in the game I'm working on recently. Couldn't quite get it to work, had to resort to reading the documentation, turns out graphics cards don't super duper agree with that whole IEEE 754 thing, and it can even change with driver version. Sure, they prioritize framerates for gamers and will optimize for what is actually needed, which I get, but this also means a lot of the edge cases are undefined behavior. Thankfully the WGSL compiler will catch this for you if it's obvious at compile time. Because it's well defined undefined behavior.

Your first code editor reveals your personality → Dreamweaver — an elder millennial → Notepad++ — likely a late millennial → Sublime Text — early Gen Z vibes → VS Code — solid Gen Z territory → Cursor — Gen Alpha energy So… which one is yours?
