@pie6k It's getting harder and harder to know at a glance with tool I need to open lol I'd say keep the indigo at least for the app icon ; use the BnW version for other places

I feel some gravity towards b&w version of the new logo But also believe Screen Studio brand is quite connected with the current colors. Indigo is quite everywhere, tho.

Yep, did that the past two months for a module aiming at preventing fraudulent use of single-use-per-customer discount codes at checkout, based on checkout information. And you're right, that's definitely a pain in the ass. But as with everything that's not deterministic, the goal is not to have a 100% success rate when matching but rather to be able to score the comparison, automate what can be automated, and notify a human for review when the score is above/below a certain threshold.

@aurelienbbn Feasible yes, practical maybe not. you ever try doing arbitrary matching like that with fuzzy logic? i have. so many edge cases and false positives.

YouTube has finally started using automatic dubbing models that closely match the original speaker's voice and I don't know if I like it.

@kurtinc That's what I meant at the end of my post. Considering there are roughly 17.5K apps (cf appnavigator.io/statistics/), I think it would be feasible for Shopify to trigger a check across all app names for resemblance, no?

@aurelienbbn Maybe they passed review and changed the name directly afterward?

I thought AI would help me achieve everything I had in mind. oh boy, was I wrong. Turns out AI filled my mind with even more things I want to accomplish. And just like that, it widened the gap between what I want to do and what I can do 🥹

@pie6k On one end yes. One the other end, this font is like a serif inter. I mean, every one is using it, it will be tasteless in a few weeks

@ljs19875 That's what I'm saying in the post. There are roughly 85K apps. On app name update, why isn't Shopify comparing the name with other apps? Or even daily\weekly?

@kylebigley 17.5K my bad, thought I saw 85. Which in theory makes it "easier" to track?

@Philo01 That's what I am trying to understand. I definitely acknowledge that getting rid off of every copycat would not be possible, however I think some verification against obvious copycat would definitely be posdobe.

@aurelienbbn Copycats are all over the App Store unfortunately, I don’t think they check. Some apps are just 1:1 clones and they get accepted.

Just cancelled my Claude Max $200 plan to switch over to OpenAI. Left Anthropic this feedback: I'm leaving because while I genuinely love the Claude web and app products (and the subscription itself), I strongly prefer OpenCode over Claude Code. It's sad because I legitimately enjoy Anthropic's experience, but without the ability to use my Claude subscription with OpenCode, it simply no longer offers the best value for my personal workflow. I'll have to switch to OpenAI here instead. Thanks for everything up to this point!

opencode 1.3.0 will no longer autoload the claude max plugin we did our best to convince anthropic to support developer choice but they sent lawyers it's your right to access services however you wish but it is also their right to block whoever they want we can't maintain an official plugin so it's been removed from github and marked deprecated on npm appreciate our partners at openai, github and gitlab who are going the other direction and supporting developer freedom
