Ask "who is accumulating Toyota shares?" and get a cited answer in seconds. Not from training data. From every regulatory filing Japan has published. Introducing the Axiora analysis engine. Every number, provably right. Coming soon. axiora.dev/architecture

The engine routes your question, resolves the company, runs domain-specific skills and synthesizes a cited answer. Two AI calls. Everything between them is deterministic.

“Claude with a PDF” wins when the task is answering one question once. It loses when you need the answer to be traceable, repeatable, and correct across thousands of companies and filings. That’s the gap between a useful output and a data product.

The real competitor in Japanese financial data in 2026 isn't Bloomberg. It's Claude with a PDF. The quality is good enough to feel trustworthy. That's exactly what makes it dangerous. We wrote about the line between "probably right" and "provably right": axiora.dev/en/blog/why-gr…

We’re rebuilding Axiora’s API around a stricter standard. A more robust architecture.

“Trust us” is not a good enough interface for financial data. Not for humans. Definitely not for AI. We already had the API. What changed is the standard: every number should be verifiable, not just correct.

@nororororororor CSMARみたいに、研究でそのまま使えるレベルまで構造化されたデータは日本だとまだ少ないですよね。 もしあれば、どのあたりのデータが一番欲しいですか?(財務、株主構成、時系列など)

We built exactly this. Axiora tracks every 大量保有報告書 (large shareholding report) filed on EDINET — 19,000+ holdings across 1,300+ investor-company pairs with accumulation/exit trajectories, activist signals, and cross-holding maps. Think WhaleWisdom but for Japan's 5% disclosure system. API + Claude MCP: axiora.dev

🪛Japan Research Toolkit 2025 🔧 Since you may have missed it over the holiday period: I’ve updated my Japan Research Toolkit! I think Japan remains a huge investment opportunity despite the run the last couple years but look, I know it can sometimes be difficult to research companies as a foreigner. This is my list of resources I use that can mostly be translated English and I hope this can help your scuttlebutting/idea generation. It’s a living list that will evolve over time. You will always be able to find it under the “useful resources” section of my site for free. ☀️ For your convenience you can also find the list below, but without the hyperlink since X would send me to the shadow realm otherwise. Don't forget to bookmark it and share it with others who might find this useful! I will also highlight a couple I enjoyed using later on! 😊 May you find some interesting opportunities in 🇯🇵 Happy Hunting! ----------------------------------- Analyst reports in English -Fisco -Shared Research -IR Street -Stock Research Center (Unfortunately this is in Japanese but a PDF translator should do the trick.) -Musha Research: Provides some really interesting perspectives on Macro -Strategy Advisors -Bridge-Salon: Sponsored Research in Japanese Substacks Asian Century Stocks (@MikeFritzell): Covers Asia in General including Japan Altay Capital (@AltayCapital): Coverage on Japan especially Net-Nets Continuous Compounding (@compoundersEX): Covers global but a good portion on Japan Dungeon Investing (@dungeoninvest): Coverage of IP/Gaming related names East Asia Stocks (@EastAsiaStocks): Covers East Asia, including Japan Japan Business Insights (@willschoebs): Covers Japan from a Unique angle Japan Economy Watch: Commentary on Japan Economy & Politics Jesper Koll: Great Stats + Commentary on Japan Markets Observing Japan (@observingjapan): Political Commentary on Japan Seraya Investment: Asia Focused Fund which includes Japan Sweet Stocks (@sweetstocksblog): Occasional reports on Interesting Japanese stocks Venture in Japan: On the Japanese venture ecosystem Stock Data/Info -Edinet: Japanese ‘EDGAR’, look up filings of companies directly. -Logmi Finance: Provides earnings call transcripts in Japanese. Does not cover all stocks -Buffet Code: Great place to get a snapshot of companies. Has many functions useful for analysis -Minkabu: Another site for snapshots, good for retail sentiment checks as it provides consensus price targets by brokers and retail investors -IR Bank: Versatile in getting an overview of companies, holdings summaries, and earnings releases (including guidance revisions) -Karauri. net: Data on Short Interest -Yasashii IPO: Latest on upcoming IPOs -Ufo Catch: Real-time update on the latest releases by Public companies -Kabutan Daily Movers/After Hours: Useful to track daily movers and After-hours information. Kabutan itself has way more functions that may be useful to you -Kabumap: Stock market data, with interesting screeners and rankings -Kabupro: Easy access to all historic filings. (My favorite way to use it is to see historic ownership filings by specific Funds/Investors) -Traders Web Margin Data: Margin Buying/Selling Data on the overall market, also provides a screener (You can also use IR bank to get a breakdown of more company-specific data and trends for each) -Yahoo Finance Bulletin: Company-specific bulletin used by individual investors (Beware there is a lot of noise and nonsense here but in rare cases some interesting info) -Japan Cheap Growth Stocks Community: A great community on X for idea generation of Japanese stocks -Shikiho Online: The online version of the “Japan Company Handbook” with a paid sub that Tatsuro Kiyohara recommends -Japan Exchange Group: Owner of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, get updated market data and new governance proposals -Media IR: High-level stock analysis (in Japanese but should be translatable) Management/IR Interviews (Unfortunately many in video format are in Japanese. Some do have transcripts) -Shonan Toushi Benkyokai: Transcripts for IR Seminars. (video format here) -Keieisha Times: Management Interviews. (Text) -Leaders File: Management Interviews.

Financial data retrieval was slower through MCP than our direct endpoint. We fixed it. Latency down 73% on MCP. Same queries. Now roughly in line with the endpoint.

Japanese financial data is hard to get. EDINET filings are in XBRL. Ownership reports are PDF-only. Financials for 4,125 companies are scattered across regulatory databases in Japanese. We structured all of it into an API. If you're a startup building with this data, we'll give you full access free for 60 days: axiora.dev/en/startup

We built this because the alternative is manually downloading XBRL from EDINET, parsing it, resolving entity names, and praying. Ask us how we know.

Genuine question for Japan equity analysts: how do you track ownership changes between quarterly snapshots? Because the actual filings show moves happening in single-digit days that don't appear anywhere else.
