This is a great way to get a LOT of families to move out of the country. We would be gone tomorrow if this went into effect. Zero hesitation. My children will not die in a pointless war started by a pedophile. Absolutely fucking not.

Rob Schneider says that the United States “must restore the military draft for our nation’s young people” amid the ongoing Iran war “Each and every American, at eighteen years of age, must serve two years of military service,” Schneide wrote on Twitter Thoughts?

Trump's "secret plan" with Mike Johnson to steal the election is more devious than you probably think. It's not just electing Trump via the House. It's decreasing the overall number of electoral votes until Trump wins a majority. I explain in @thenation: thenation.com/article/politi…

@bethanyjbabcock Because public schools have to teach everyone. Imagine if your private school took in special needs children. Also imagine they had to be held to actual standards. It cost less because they don't provide services on the outside of the bell curve.

It costs the State of Texas $9,871 per student per year to teach kids k-12 in public schools. This is among the lowest per student costs in the nation. Yet, it costs $7,500 per kid to send my kid to a private, for profit, fully bilingual school with class sizes between 10-15 students. Kids are ages 10 and under. Most of the teachers have been there for 5-10 years. A few even have PhD’s. While I’m biased, my children are excelling in academics beyond their grade levels. We all know it’s not from me, so the school must be doing a good job. So why is a small private school who pays property taxes and doesn’t get bonds able to educate my children for less and keep teachers long term? How are they able to do this with class sizes 1/3 the size of public school and less funding per student? Honest questions: After a certain point, Is there a correlation between academic performance and school funding? Of the increase in property taxes, most of which is for schools, how big of raises did the teachers get? Are schools underfunded or do we need to start from scratch and figure out where the bloat is? We say teachers need to be treated better. Is it a money or a work environment problem, or both? As it stands now we aren’t allowed to question school funding because those in power have coupled the conversations regarding funding and teacher pay as if they are perfectly correlated. Recent years have shown it’s not impacting their pay. Link to data source in comment

So after liquidating some RE holdings, I have $1,000,000 that I need to deploy into the market. I feel pretty good about my individual stock/crypto holdings ATM, so my plan is to push it all towards ETFs. So here is the question. Do I... 1. YOLO the full $1m into ETFs this week. 2. DCA weekly, or even daily over the next 6 months. What would you do?

OK, it's time to talk about Egypt. The thwarted DoJ investigation into an alleged $10 million Egyptian bribe to Trump in 2016-17 has gotten attention on here But I haven’t seen any discussion of the wider *context* of U.S. foreign policy toward Egypt, and why it matters 🧵(1/n)

Has anyone figured out why Trump keeps bringing up "the late great Hannibal lecter"...? It's gotta be some obscure joke right? He can't serious adulate a fictional, sociopathic serial killer, right? Even the most recent TV installment of the character wrapped up nearly 10 years ago. Is there a more recent pop-cultureal reference that I'm missing?
