@TkDodo @TkDodo maybe we could do something like apollo client? that instead of enabled flag, you could return some special symbol from your queryFn. This would allow to avoid typescript hacks when you check for value existence in enabled flag and also in queryFn. What do you think?

I really wish enabled: boolean would be the inverse api (skip: boolean) so we wouldn't have to default it to true. We can't work with falsy values now because undefined needs to become true. RTK Query definitely got this right.

@TkDodo @ReactSummit I love react query because of typesafety, also allowing to no longer think where to put api fetching logic, because react query handles it for me

@SeaRyanC @nikolamilovic5 would love to know if this is an accurate characterisation - it wasn't my intention. I do believe it's "for a good reason". I imagine that trying to change TS to make this work would make it run a lot slower.

🔥 TypeScript Tip 🔥 Object.keys is DELIBERATELY not very type-safe. This can feel extremely annoying to beginners. But it's for a good reason...

@chautelly It’s close to what useEvent was about. U need to update the ref in an effect though - assigning to ref in render aint compatible with React’s model

New month - new blog post! 🎉 This time - about Typescript generics. At first glance, Generics seems an easy way of writing more abstract code. 🤔Though it can become quite complex when defining dependencies between component props. bajorunas.tech/blog/typescrip…
