My point was that when Prof. Ehrman says that the historical evidence for the existence of Jesus of Nazareth is extremely strong he's doing so without the bias of traditional Christian faith. But the way I expressed that was sloppy & potentially misleading.

Folks, @ericvonotter is raising a legitimate critique here & I'd like to publicly apologize to @BartEhrman for the misleading characterization. I should have said, "has written multiple bestselling books that question the historic Christian faith" or similar.

Hi @sheilagregoire thanks to your research insights, we have a much better awareness of damaging Christian literature around marriage. In clearing out books we don’t want, we now have this stack (mainly unread gifts to be honest).What to do? Thrifting seems unhelpful? Burn? Help!

@hbbayl Pros are you can be more context specific, avoid the cringe moments and tailor it to your needs. Cons are guests less able to be critical, less production value, less feeling part of something bigger.

@NivLobo I get this but I also think the description is largely aimed at the intended audience, many people count themselves out as not the sort of person who would belong at church and it’s tackling that misconception by saying you’re invited, church is for you!

Controversial thought for the day (pushback welcomed): while I know + love many who run a ‘church for people who don’t do church’, I think this tag might do more harm than good. Evangelistic zeal is not reason enough to tolerate (let alone celebrate) ecclesiological incoherence.
