🤝 We've been visiting lots of renal units across Northern Ireland in the last two days. Yesterday we travelled to Daisy Hill and Omagh, and today we went to Altnagelvin, Antrim, Dundonald and Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children. (1/3)
Thanks to all who took part in our Shared Care Study Day held with @kidneycareuk & the Northern Ireland Kidney Patients Association.
The event allowed patients from Antrim Renal Unit to learn about their hemodialysis treatment and how to carry out aspects of their own care.
Great presentation from Renal Counsellor Libby Weatherup working with kidney patients across @NHSCTrust - putting the emotional journey first & establishing a connection! Sharing @kidneycareuk guidance on how #SharedCare can help! ❤️
Great to spend time chatting with Linda from Glenavy who benefits from the Shared Care Programme while she is on dialysis at the Renal Unit at Antrim Area Hospital. With Deputy Ward Sister Claire Bartram - @kidneycareuk#SharedCare ❤️
Need a few local councillors @PatriciaOLynn@reido90 to do something about this. It’s already gone on too long while other areas have no issues with upgrades and funding. Check the date this pic was taken-jan2020 and it’s still in same state. How long is ‘shortly’ in @mea_bc
The Renal team have had to reorganise the way they worked during the pandemic to meet the needs of service users. They have maintained their high standard of care and showed great teamwork by working additional shifts to cover the outpatient unit and acute services ⭐️
❗️Today we reached a significant milestone❗️We have now vaccinated 50,000 people in Northern Trust area, since the vaccination programme commenced in December 👏👏Our fantastic staff will continue to deliver the programme to help protect as many people as possible from COVID-19.
