@option_snipper For all the people that ask what he means when he says drop the money making mindset.. focusing on the money will go to your head and feed a piece of you that will cause you to make mistakes that could be avoided by focusing on something else, like the stuff he just mentioned.

(1/n) no one comes to trading not for making $. that said, this very typical commonly-seen $-making mindset is VERY bad for an option trader. you can trade to win $$ but that should NOT be your goal otherwise no matter how prepared you think you are, you WILL make mistakes often.

Two strategies I've heard for teaching kids about money.
1. Allowance, then 1/3 gets saved/invest, 1/3 get spent, 1/3 given away
2. Allowance, then 20% interest paid on money not spent

@farnamstreet I’ve found that by not comparing myself to others on their path but only to myself from last week/month/year helps me overcome this mindset. If the desire is there nothing can stop it. If it isn’t there, it never was. Reflect then move on quickly.
