🚨In a Political “Ripley’s Believe It or Not”, LOL, the Harris County Democratic Party created a poll push card in the HCAD election that said "Republican Extremists" candidates in the Saturday election for the Harris County Appraisal District runoff will do four unbelievable things: 1) Defund our public schools, 2) expand tax breaks for the wealthy, 3)increase taxes for the working class, and 4) cut county services..! This leaves “political hyperbole” in the rearview mirror! Texas Schools are funded by average daily attendance, there is no CAD "means testing" that could favor the wealthy, the working class is benefited by ISD, City, County Homestead exemptions, and HCAD can't cut county services only Commissioners Court can! Wow, that's 4 strikeouts, and the @harrisdemocrats chair should be "ejected" from the game! Imagine what the media landslide would be if the @HarrisCountyRP chair made claims as wild as these 4! The public passed Proposition 4 by 83% in November 2023, which had this critical property tax reform in it, and it's up to the public to make an informed vote on Saturday, June 15th; however, going well beyond political hyperbole isn't the way to do it! You can read what this runoff election is about and what these HCAD board positions actually do in this informative article by @hollyshansen of @TheTexanNews. Tomorrow is Election Day, So Go Vote from 7am to 7pm! For my part, I voted FOR @kanthonyscott and Ericka McCrutcheon!

Setting the record straight, as it’s flat wrong! I am the Author of Senate Bill 2, truly a historic property tax reduction, as assigned by Lt. Governor @DanPatrick. SB2 was passed out unanimously by the Texas Senate to the Texas House, where Chair @MorganMeyerTX was the sponsor. #txlege

The 🔔 tolls! @teainfo announced the appointing of a seven-member Board of Managers and a new superintendent for La Joya ISD. This is in result of a comprehensive investigation TEA conducted due to substantiated allegations of fraud and conflicts of interest. This comes as no surprise to me after seeing the purchase of a water park and golf course by La Joya ISD, or should I say their “Sports Learning Center”, in 2019. I don't know about you, but I have been outspoken that ISDs should never be in the waterpark or golf course business ever again. I authored a bill back in 2019 to prevent this with Senator @TxChuy, who said this corruption must end. SB 1133 would have prevented public schools from owning facilities like this and squandering taxpayer dollars. That bill unfortunately died in the House, but my stance remains the same, schools should be focused on their public mission of educating students.
