As foreign investors buy up more of our forest land, our community continues to be boxed out of the woods we have had access to for generations. Right now, one German royal family controls 7.3% of the land in Wahkiakum County.
Today, I am urging two German Princes to reopen regulated hunting access on this land. Access to forest land is not simply a cultural tradition, but also an important driver of local economy and a way to put food on the table. We can’t lose our forests.
