Everyone is made in the image of God. But only those who believe have the right to become children of God. ☦️

Nevertheless, someone always needed to be under the authority of the Church’s teaching office to ensure the faithful received the Scriptures correctly and interpreted them in line with the apostolic tradition, just as the apostles advised...

In the early Church, not everyone had a Bible. Materials were expensive, and most people were illiterate. When the printing press appeared in the 15th century, Bibles became much more accessible to ordinary believers.

If they truly desired unity, they would become Orthodox, not divided from the body.

A lot of them also believe Orthodox Christians aren’t truly saved or don’t have the Holy Spirit (common discussions). It’s basically a way of condemning us to hell without saying it directly.
And yet, they’re often the same people who talk about unity.

Christian Zionists be like “jews are God’s chosen people, we don’t need to preach to them” and then go try to evangelize nations that have been Christian for thousands of years

I’m in Minsk, Belarus. Would you pray as I preach the Gospel tonight and tomorrow night?
English

@TheBibleIsJesus This is similar to a "You guys believe in 3 god's" argument that others make just to feel right and justified with their position.
Here's three different AI queries quickly...

Because your faith is in yourself.

If faith alone saves, then why are prots so pressed about Catholics and orthodox? We have faith…how are we any less saved than you?

Anyway, have to keep praying for them.
Ultimately, it's a pride problem.
English

@Iron12cross @fathers_church 1/
Correct. They see Orthodoxy as a different religion, and then get offended if you say something similar.
It's only because of feelings and a desire for acceptance in their own views of what Christianity should look like.
English

Why are you evangelizing in an Orthodox Christian land?

deliberately rejects that visible Body even though it is offered to them?
English

@Abunajohn 5/
receiving it faithfully—Scripture and the Church’s tradition would see that as a serious spiritual risk, not just a harmless theological preference.
But even then, how can we speak of schism if there is no visible Church to be in communion with—or if someone (...)

You don’t have to be Orthodox to have the Grace of God. You have to be in Christ’s Holy Church to have the Grace of God. And, no one, except God, knows the borders of His Church.
I don’t really believe Jay Dyer or his ilk are part of the Church. His priest and bishop are guilty of malfeasance.
English

@bannedpastor @a_westgate Odd comment coming from someone of an americanised version of Christ and his Church.

@OnAncientPaths I hope you realise that such fear is not coming from a good place....

I’ve been Orthodox for 13 years now. I’ve been at my current parish for three or four years and love it there. But as it grows, I felt a twinge of fear there for the first time today. I’ve been married for 20 years and my family is multiracial, and based mostly on things I’ve seen here, I begin to worry about those coming through the doors who may hate or wish harm to me or my family. The feeling didn’t last long, and I know social media is not real life. But the witness of those claiming to be Orthodox here still affects people, especially as more people are becoming exposed to the faith for this first time in such spaces.
English

@TheDustyChuck @TexasRose1836 You really need to look in the mirror because this is exactly what you are doing with the whole of Orthodoxy in accusation.
English

@TexasRose1836 "Prots demand 10%"
There is absolutely zero demand to tithe. Zero. There is nothing that ties tithing to salvation.
You're either ignorant or a liar. Which is it?
English

Sure. And crackheads don't actually pay for the crack, you see. They pay for the feeling they get when they smoke the crack. So, really they aren't buying crack, but a feeling.
Jacqueline Rose ☦️@TexasRose1836
@TheDustyChuck No, honestly, didn’t pay a dime. Plus, those fees are for the rental of the space for the after party. We celebrate baptism like Mexicans celebrate their dogs birthdays. We party hard. 🥳
