There’s a lot more money in Protestant ministry. I understand your frustration, but in order to persue the truth, I sacrificed a paid pastoral position, and all of my Protestant business contacts, Speaking engagements, and more. You can claim a lot of things about me but going from Protestant apologist appearing on every major Protestant apologetics channel. To becoming an orthodox layman ‘for the money’ is not only not true. It’s absurdly not true. If I wanted to make a bunch of money, and have a massive audience I’d just be an ecumenist- pandering to everyone, Protestants, Catholics, and orthodox.

This just confuses agency with authority.
When Protestants say Scripture is self-authenticating, we are not saying the physical book has personal agency, as if paper and ink make decisions.
We are saying God’s speech is self-authenticating because God is the speaker.
That is why I emphasized in the video (and in prior videos) that the uniqueness of divine speech is central to the sola scriptura discussion.
This simply evidences that.
The authority belongs to the divine author, not to the material artifact.
So “Scripture authenticates itself” means the Scriptures bear the marks and authority of God’s own speech. It terminates in itself. It’s the first rule. And the Spirit enables the Church to recognize that voice.

The idea that it teaches you *must* hold to dogmas like icon ven that *is not taught in, and arguably is against scripture*, and if you don't you're anathema.

Wait, you think not knowing who fulfilled a prophecy (because you don't know about Jesus yet) means you need an infallible church authority to tell you or you can never understand it? You seriously think a random Christian couldn't have told him how the prophecy was fulfilled? And you think that if he actually had one of the Gospels, he still couldn't have figured it out?
