The goal is to get you to your destination safely. on time is just a bonus. Why would an airline want to waste fuel for the heck of it?

@jimmychickey Also keep in mind other airlines have expiration dates for travel, funds, and others. You lose the funds if you cancel after the 24 hour rule. Change is hard yes but sometimes change is good such as extra legroom seats

@bec102896 It’s all about the big picture. The 12 month rule is just one change Southwest made. If you think southwest is better today vs a year ago- this post is not directed at you

@jimmychickey so if you used the travel hack then what’s the problem? Sure you had to do an extra step but no other airline when you buy basic will extend your funds by a hack.
