@lowcarbGP Think the Younger Drias was marginal and control through grains was a result not premeditated intention. Prey size decline because of need for fat looks better to me.

@KetoCarnivore Their results could equally, if not better, be explained by increased meat consumption. Sent a comment to the journal. Let's see if they publish.

@DupontDaniel2 Other predators (not all animals are relevant) have speed, strength, claws etc. Humans have large brains, long-distance running and capable hands to carry out the brain's knapping designs.

@bendormiki sounds interesting, but the brain size / prey size correlation is verified for other animals?

I asked Gemini to produce an infograph for a chapter in a book I am writing. What do you think? A good starting point? g.co/gemini/share/4…

The relentless @CaseyRuff is releasing another interview with me on August 7th. Here is one small soundbite. Most of the time was spent discussing human evolution.

@MEATritionCom An outlier diet in an outlier environment close to the arrival of agriculture. It says nothing about our evolutionary diet.

MEATrition.com 🥩 - Travis Statham M.S. Nutri-Sci
“Conventional wisdom holds that early human economies focused on hunting – an idea that has led to a number of high-protein dietary fads such as the paleo diet,” said Dr Randy Haas, an archeologist at the University of Wyoming and senior author of the paper. “Our analysis shows that the diets were composed of 80% plant matter and 20% meat.” In Peruvians 7,000 years ago. Deer and llamas aren’t large animals. They were living in a megafauna depleted area. “The analysis also indicated that large mammals, such as deer or llamas, made up most of the meat in the diet, rather than smaller mammals such as birds or fish. Haas said the view that early humans ate mostly meat was widespread in archeological circles. “If you were to talk to me before this study I would’ve guessed meat comprised 80% of the diet,” he said. “It is a fairly widespread assumption that human diets were dominated by meat.” theguardian.com/science/2024/j… This only provides further evidence of @bendormiki ‘s theories.
