הזן השפל ביותר של הישראלים שקיים הם שני תתי האדם שדפקו על דלתו של האיש הזה, שכנם, איליה, עיוור בודד בן למעלה משבעים, וצעקו לו שהיתה אזעקה למרות שלא היתה. בזמן שהוא משרך את דרכו למטה למקלט נכנסו אליו הביתה גנבו כסף מזומן ואת כרטיס האשראי שלו, וגיהצו באלפי שקלים. כששאלנו את איליה מה הוא צריך, הוא בכלל לא דיבר על הכסף, אלא על הבדידות שלו. סיפר שאם היה מישהו שיכול לבקר אותו ולהוציא אותו לסיבוב זה יותר חשוב לו מהכסף שהלך. לדעתי צריך לדאוג גם לזה וגם לזה. לכן, כל שקל שייתרם לקרן הצינור מעתה ועד השידור שלנו הערב ילך לכיסוי חובו של איליה (לינק בתגובה). ואם יש מישהו (רצוי דובר רוסית) שמעוניין לבוא לבקר ולצאת לטייל כתבו לי בדיאם. תודה וסליחה על ההפרעה

Real-time 3D viz of Cologne's tram network. Every train from live data, 200+ stations, departure boards. Built custom tools for the schematic map, procedural city in Blender, and a GTFS preprocessing pipeline.

@benodru good q! will share more about the architecture, but it's hybrid search: fulltext + BM25+ / semantic embeddings for images & text. indexes are all local

i'm making a search engine for all of my (physical) books.
i typed "water droplet" and it showed my that there is a photo of a drop of water on a leaf on p. 50 of "Eames Design"
...out of 17,000 pages (and counting)!

@daviddorg My PhD proposal lol. And also, I think ubiquitous computing can be divided between Dourish/Weiser’s “there is no user” and Olia Lialina’s “there is only the user”. One side from hardcore computer science and the other from critical media studies

@DavidTsamirGal @NoyaSoyaa ברוב העולם דוקטורט זה עבודה לכל דבר. בדר״כ במימון ממשלתי/אירופאי, עם פגישות טימס, אקסלים, דדליינים, קוד וכל השאר. אישתי חלק מפרוייקט גדול של האיחוד האירופאי. במקבילה לעבודה אחרת היא בעצם ראש צוות מחקר. אני במסלול דוק אחר, ועדיין עובד על מימון, אבל גם אצלי מדובר בעבודה לכל דבר
