On March 5th, at 2pm, Deputy Marshals from the Eastern PA, Reading and Allentown office, along with NY/NJ RFTF investigators, arrested Jose Pizzaro in the 700 block of Dekalb Ave in Brooklyn NY. Pizarro was wanted for the Oct. 2022 murder of an ex-NFL player in Berks county PA.

PSP Reading along with multiple other law enforcement are looking for 9 juveniles who escaped from Abraxas Academy tonight around 8:00 PM.

⚠️ Accident on Pottsville Pike (Route 61) in Ontelaunee Township near Cross Keys Road, reported to be a motorcycle versus a car. The Coroner has been requested to the scene. Fire Police dispatched to closed both directions of Route 61 between Cross Keys Road and Snyder Road.

⚠️ Accident on 422 West ramp in Wyomissing to North Wyomissing Blvd, reported to be two vehicles, one rolled over with entrapment. Use caution traveling through the area.

🚧 Tree down on 422 West in Exeter Township Just prior to Daniel Boone Road, reported to be block one lane.

Police responded to S. 6th and Cherry Friday afternoon for a shooting, initially reported a person shot. One person was transported to the hospital, condition unknown. Police on-scene declined to provide any information on the incident.

A record daily rainfall of 2.39 inches was set at the Reading Regional Airport near Reading, Pennsylvania today. This breaks the old record of 2.10 inches set back in 1984. Precipitation records for the Reading area extend back to 1869.

⛈️ A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for South Central Berks County until 3pm. Radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches in 1 hour.

At 6 am this morning, investigators from @USMS_Philly @BerksDA and @PhillyPolice arrested Charles Acosta, 25, in the 7100 block of Torresdale Ave in Philadelphia. Acosta was wanted for the murder of a 2-year-old child which occurred May 2023 in Reading, Pennsylvania.
