Just finished watching @PierrePoilievre’s interview on @joerogan_HQ . I’d encourage people to take the 2.5 hours and watch a leader in action. Some of the highlights that I enjoyed: - the natural and relaxed demeanor of the whole conversation and of Pierre. That’s the authentic and down-to-Earth Pierre I value and know; - his knowledge of history and other topics…it helps him provide context on many of his positions and policies; - the continuous display of his ideology that government should “get out of the way” and let people make their own decisions….yep, freedom is a privilege and certainly the path forward to success; - his pride of being a Canadian and wanting a strong relationship with our greatest neighbor (pushing for tariff free trade, better deals for our resources, etc); - his compassion for the homeless and drug addicted people; - his desire to clean up the justice system so as to ensure career criminals are not simply released on bail so as to continue their criminal ways; - his refusal to criticize PM Carney “on foreign soil”….classy; and - promoting our great Canadian municipalities (like Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton, Hardisty, the Okanagan, etc). For those who think this is him “speaking to his base” or that Joe Rogan spreads “disinformation” (like some legacy media outlets are already spouting), spare me….your shallow takes display your ignorance. Pierre Poilievre just broke the spell. For years the media painted him as some angry, rigid ideologue. One long form Joe Rogan interview later, even CTV’s own panel on Power Play with Vassy Kapelos sat there stunned, saying nothing bad for a full 10 minutes and openly calling him “Prime Minister material.” That’s what happens when people get to see the real guy instead of the 8 second soundbite caricature. Genius move going on Rogan. It’s a shame he didn’t do it during the election... the entire narrative might have collapsed overnight. Long format conversations are kryptonite to the legacy media machine. One honest, unfiltered hour and suddenly the “scary conservative” spell is shattered. The left is going to spend the next week in full meltdown mode trying to glue that spell back together. Too late. The public just got a real look.

I’m starting to think many Liberals, especially the older cohort, don’t really care if Carney keeps his promise to build big things at speeds not seen in generations. Their priority is not pipelines or housing or affordability or safety or sensible immigration reform. It’s power. Gaining it, keeping it and keeping the status quo intact.
