Yesterday in Marondera during the Presidential Borehole Drilling scheme official unveiling, citizens expressed a clear and compelling vision: their focus is on development, not elections. This sentiment reflects a growing recognition that sustainable progress is achieved through investment in infrastructure, services, and livelihoods rather than prolonged political contestation.
Having lived in the United Arab Emirates, I have witnessed firsthand how a nation can achieve remarkable transformation by channeling its energy into development. The UAE has built world-class infrastructure, diversified its economy, and elevated the quality of life for its people — all with limited emphasis on electoral processes. Their model demonstrates that when governance is anchored in delivery and efficiency, citizens benefit directly.
For Zimbabwe, the message from Marondera is instructive. Communities are calling for reliable water supply, modern infrastructure, healthcare, education, and economic opportunities. These are the foundations of dignity and prosperity. Elections are important in any democracy, but they should not overshadow the urgent need for tangible progress.
Policy must therefore prioritize development as the central pillar of governance. By focusing on service delivery, resource management, and inclusive growth, leadership can respond to the people’s call: progress before politics, development before elections.

I didn't want to comment much about this, but I am so fascinated by the remarks being made here. I have seen people making the same excuses for opposition lawyers who represent corrupt ZANU PF people in court, saying it's their job. Honestly, with this kind of thinking and behavior, we will have ZANU PF in power for quite some time.
ZANU PF is an enemy of the people, and we should treat it as such. Malaba was one of the most instrumental people in prolonging ZANU PF’s stay in power; he wasn't professional and was evil. What is there to celebrate for a person like that?
If this reasoning is sincere, then one of these days I want to see "Sisi" Fadzi representing Sengezo Tshabangu in court because it’s her profession. Let’s not perpetuate rubbish. Zimbabwe is not a normal democracy where people coexist despite their political differences. Zimbabwe is a war zone; you can't be seen dining with the same people you are fighting in the name of professionalism.

Constitutional Amendment Bill Number 3 is the best legal framework for Zimbabwe since 1980, especially Clause 2, which accords MPs the power to elect the President.
When the masses vote for their MPs, a social contract is created, implying that the masses surrender and delegate some of their powers to the MPs, who then act in the people's best interest by voting for the President. There is nothing wrong with this.
This system benefits Zimbabwe's democratic trajectory by enhancing representative democracy, mitigating electoral toxicity and election disputes, and aligning with regional standards like South Africa and Botswana.

Happy Mothers Day to First Lady Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa @ZimFirstLady, a mother who has the entire nation at heart.
She will be forever remembered for her compassionate work through the Angel of Hope Drug Rehabilitation Centre which is located in Mbare.
The rehabilitation centre has been at the epicenter of fighting drug and substance abuse. To date, hundreds of drugs addicts have received training, life skills and are now drug free.
Apart from that, she is also a great philanthropist who has changed lives of many for the better, especially women and the underprivileged.

'RETHINKING PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS: WHY AN INDIRECT SYSTEM MAY SERVE ZIMBABWE BETTER', Glen Mpani [@glenmpani],
published by iol.co.za
"I HAVE closely followed the debate around Constitution of Zimbabwe (Amendment No. 3) Bill with keen interest. Working in political campaigns, I have reflected deeply on what the Bill’s proposed changes mean, not just for governance, but for how campaigns are designed, executed, and won. That perspective has shaped my thinking in ways I did not initially anticipate.
There is a fundamental question at the heart of Zimbabwe's political future: how should a president be chosen?
Direct elections have long been treated as the gold standard of democracy. Citizens vote, a leader emerges, and legitimacy is assumed. Yet this assumption deserves scrutiny".

#dandarostreets Tensions rose on the DJ Sparks Podcast after DJ Sparks said Winky D needs to attend podcasts like his as a musician to engage with people and promote his work.
Ninja Kabhidha pushed back, saying Winky D is already bigger than such platforms and does not need them. The response appeared to anger DJ Sparks, turning the discussion into a heated exchange.

Why More Zimbabweans Want ED to Continue to 2030.
We should be honest with each other. Have you noticed that many people who aligned themselves with the mantra “Nyika Inovakwa Nevene Vayo” and supported ZANU PF policies have seen their lives change completely compared to where they were ten years ago?
Many who once struggled are now building businesses, constructing homes, and driving vehicles they once only dreamed about. Opportunities that once seemed impossible are now becoming reality for ordinary Zimbabweans through empowerment, hard work, and economic growth.
Today, people are driving Raptors, investing in businesses, and improving their lifestyles in ways that once felt far-fetched. Even some who previously doubted the vision are beginning to acknowledge the visible transformation taking place across communities.
That is why many Zimbabweans believe CAB3 is important , to allow President Mnangagwa @edmnangagwa to continue driving the country’s development agenda towards Vision 2030, with the goal of creating an upper-middle-income economy where more citizens can prosper, own homes, create wealth, and secure a better future for their families.
For many supporters, President ED Mnangagwa represents continuity, empowerment, infrastructure development, and economic opportunity.
They believe his leadership has brought progress and opened doors that many never imagined possible years ago.
