@bryanfcasey Anyone who thinks ChatGPT will fully replace search as we've known it probably has never set ChatGPT as their default search engine. I love the AI thing and use it a lot, but it is a slow miserable experience as a 100% only option.

People that work in tech think ChatGPT is replacing search and threatening the business model of publishers and the web generally. Maybe they are right, long-term. But today, right now, everyone that works on the web is 100x more concerned with what Google is doing.

I don’t think AI will take away all tech jobs But it may eliminate the need for the mediocre: - The mediocre sales rep that doesn’t know the product - The mediocre marketer that sends canned campaigns - The mediocre engineer that wants a cushy job Not clear we will need them in 24 months. AI is already better than them in many cases as it is. We already don’t need mediocre support reps anymore in many cases. Many have been able to use AI to eliminate the bottom 20%-30% of customer support reps.
