The most undervalued skill in high school basketball? Being coachable. Be the kid who makes eye contact, listens without interrupting, and says “yes, coach.” Talent fades without the willingness to learn and improve.

High school sports aren’t a participation trophy. Age and class don’t guarantee anything. The best players play because they help teams win, and coaches owe it to the team to put the strongest lineup on the field.

The biggest excuse from parents is "The coach took away my son's/daughter's confidence." Confidence can neither be taken nor given. Players earn the right to be confident by the work they put in on their own. Get them a hoop and a ball, not excuses.#coachingdevotionals
