How on earth does the #Odisha Cabinet take such a decision to increase the stamp duty on affordable housing by 2%? @narendramodi @DrHariBabuK @MohanMOdisha @Naveen_Odisha @BhaktaCharanDas

Ashamed of the two opposition parties in #Odisha Two days back the Cabinet decided to increase the stamp duty for registration of low value flats, which will directly impact affordability of the affordable housing schemes. Both @bjd_odisha and @INCOdisha are clueless @Naveen_Odisha @BhaktaCharanDas about the development. @narendramodi @RahulGandhi A pro poor government should charge 1% as the stamp duty for apartments costing less than 45 lakhs. Instead of that @MohanMOdisha govt. has increased it from 3% to 5%. Rather the government should abolish the practice of "no-registration" of apartments in the land owners share in a real estate project. Under which law those land owners share apartments are (1)not being registered? (2)no stamp duty is collected? @sureshkpujari Remember about 20% of the entire apartments constructed in Odisha are land owners share which never get registered, thus the Government loses HUGE revenue. @arvindpadhee @ushapadhee1996 @_anugarg

@ChanchalRanaIAS Please extend decisive bulldozer action as seen in Gurugram’s VIP colonies to IRC, VIP, Shaheed Nagar, Satya Nagar, Bapuji Nagar and every other address in Bhubaneswar where the so-called privileged and powerful have encroached upon public land/Road. The law cannot have two sets of rules one for the common citizen like what was done recently at SHAMPUR and another for the entitled elite. Equality before the law must be non-negotiable. A property cannot remain unauthorised, either it will be regularised as per law OR it will be demolished. (Have a look at the Supreme Court's proceeding on demolition: link 👇) youtube.com/shorts/WwyTKrx… @HUDDeptOdisha What about, ❓Set back violations ❓Plan approved for 70 units but 77 units constructed by the builder, Sub-registrar accepted sale deed of 77, BMC collecting holding tax for 77? ❓Plan approved by authorities without the power to approve plans ❓ Constructions without any plan approval How @TPCentralOdisha connected electricity to such unauthorised buildings⁉️ Why commercial establishments running in units approved for residential use without conversation ⁉️ The recent demolition of 14000 shops in 860 properties of Central Market, Meerut and the strict orders in these matters by the supreme Court should be a wake up call for all. Remember: the original case of Meerut Demolition is against the State of Odisha. @ushapadhee1996 @ChanchalRanaIAS soon the state of #Odisha will be under scrutiny.

I'm going to give the bad news to home buyers. Most of you are going to see delays in delivery of homes. Now its easy to blame builders but in this environment you should not. There is a material shortage across the board. Most Builders will struggle in execution.
