The challenge: Finding $7-10 billion for the #Sonics at the same time the #Seahawks are seeking the same amount for their ownership. NBA stipulates a controlling owner with at least 15% equity and up to 25 individual owners with at least a 1% stake. At $7 billion asking price, that is $1.05 billion minimum for controlling owner and at least $70 million per individual.

"struggle" looks like for somebody else. Nobody said gas prices are the same as war, but acting like they don’t matter just shows how out of touch you are. For some families, that "slight increase" is groceries, rent, or whether their kids get to do anything this weekend. Ever think about that dad that has his kids for the weekend and now can't do anything? You can care about people in war zones and care about people here trying to make it day to day. Dismissing one doesn’t elevate the other, it just exposes your arrogance.

As I said after the World Series, baseball has clearly re-established itself as the number-two sport in the country, behind football. There's no debate at this point. America wants to watch March baseball more than the culmination of the NBA season.
The WBC final comfortably outdrew Games 1-6 of the 2025 NBA Finals and beat the series average.
Before you pin that on Thunder-Pacers, the WBC Final also outdrew Game 4 of the 2024 NBA Finals and was 500,000 viewers shy of beating the series average. 2024 featured two top-10 TV media markets, legitimate NBA star power in Luka, and NBA royalty in the Celtics.
There should be panic at NBA headquarters over this, and MLB should be terrified of a work stoppage that would kill this momentum.

Seattle is an affluent city, but more importantly would not be traditionally defined as a small market. It’s not LA, NY, DFW or CHI, but at 12-15 it’s bigger than Phoenix and certainly a larger market than a number of existing teams. Including OKC… but no one complains there.

I kind of thought #Bears Coby Bryant would at least take a coaches discount because HC Mike Macdonald moved him from CB to S. Macdonald, basically to me, saved his career because if Bryant stayed at CB, I think he wouldn't be a starter or paid this much. So thank you, HC Mike Macdonald for saving his career so that Coby Bryant can get paid to play for the bears, I guess.
