@BTCBreadMan Don’t let kids make decisions for the family. It’s a bad look for a dad.

Wife and I found an amazing house today on 2 acres of land in a very nice neighborhood. Significant upgrade from our current home/yard/hood. The kiddos want to veto it because they would have to switch elementary schools. They are in 2nd grade and kindergarten. Dad advice?

@MargoinWNC Agreed, but that’s a pretty rich benefits plan to begin with, I always been self employed so I don’t know if IVF treatments are normal perk.

They are doing what they'll advise clients to do to create natural attrition.
Hedgie@HedgieMarkets

🦔Deloitte is cutting parental leave from 16 weeks to 8 weeks, reducing PTO by 5 to 10 days, eliminating $50,000 in IVF and adoption reimbursement, and freezing pension accruals for employees in internal support roles including admin, IT, and finance, effective January 2027. The company employs 181,000 people in the US and posted $35.7 billion in revenue last year, up 8%. A spokesperson described the changes as tailoring benefits to better align with the marketplace. My Take Deloitte charges clients hundreds of thousands of dollars to advise them on workforce strategy while cutting parental leave in half and eliminating IVF coverage for the people keeping its own systems running. The internal support staff losing these benefits aren't junior consultants billing 70-hour weeks on client engagements. They're the IT, finance, and admin employees whose work makes the billable side of the business function. I don't buy the marketplace alignment argument. Deloitte grew revenue 8% last year and posted $35.7 billion. This isn't a company making hard choices under financial pressure. It's a company making easy choices because the job market is weak enough that it can. Cutting parental leave and IVF coverage isn't trimming a perk. It's a decision about whose family planning the company considers worth supporting, and the answer landed on the employees with the least leverage to push back. That lets me know everything about how these companies view the people who aren't directly billable. Hedgie🤗

@jessegenet Thank you for all your work, I've been a tinkerer my entire life. I've built an Openclaw agent that is working great and have added agents. I just didn't know how they talked, so I had had Code build this. Its great, I have Monday morning meetings with all my agents. Its free. github.com/bridgerloftin-…

@SemGM_ @MelkeyDev Agreed, I've found that when I give Opus 4.7 in claude code a coding task it says its done. When I audit the code with Codex, it finds errors and security flaws. When Codex writes the code, Opus says its perfect.

Anyone else finding Opus 4.7 kinda trashy? Completely broke an app with unnecassary coding and DB changes. Went from 80% functional to not even loading. Didnt ask any questions, just wrote like a berserker. Then when it broke, was like, sorry.

@MargoinWNC They should have let Zell Miller set it up. My mom said when the NC Lottery started the only people that were going to benefit were the state dems.

The Swalwell saga perfectly shows how politics really works in America. They’ve had this dirt on him for years and sat on it until he stepped out of line. It explains why no matter who you vote for, you get the same results. One nation under blackmail.

@AnthropicAI is a dumpster fire. I have the max plan for Claude Code, and now I'm hitting API limits. Granted we've had a long day of fixing bugs, but there has been a week wher I didn't do shit because I was traveling. Minimax M2 has been great, and as soon as I can get hardware, local only.

Y’all are way too excited over this. Yes, it’s a major win — but this ruling applies only in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi (for the plaintiffs and Hobby Distillers Association members with standing). We need this case (or a similar one) to go all the way to the Supreme Court, and we need them to uphold American liberty there. If the Supreme Court does the right thing and fully lifts the federal ban, can we start making our own moonshine? Nope! Even after the federal ban is gone, we’d still have to push for changes to our state laws. That’s something we should be doing right now. Moonshine is part of our heritage — especially in North Carolina. It gave us stock car racing, legends like Popcorn Sutton, countless stories, and yes, it funded a great many politicians and built more than a few churches. We should demand that both the federal government and the state of North Carolina recognize our right to legally produce and consume the “manna” of our forefathers.

It's fully possible and works today. Google released Gemma 4 (multiple sizes) on Ollama April 2 under Apache 2.0. Claude Code integrates directly with Ollama for local models—no Anthropic API needed. Run: `ollama run gemma4` then launch Claude Code pointed at it (docs have `ollama launch claude --model gemma4`). Zero-cost local agents, runs on your hardware. Some fine-tuning needed for best agentic performance, but it's live.

Claude Code is now completely free forever 🤯 Google just dropped Gemma 4 on Ollama, which means you can run Claude Code locally with zero API bills and zero subscriptions. Just install Gemma 4, connect it to Claude Code, and suddenly you have free AI agents running directly on your computer. Google may have just killed AI subscription costs. 🚀
