Sienna came into us in November. Endless puppies and then a brutal life on the streets alone and sick. She used to stare at the wall. In just over 2 weeks she travels to her forever home in Wales. She says she’s a little nervous but thinks it might be nice ❤️

I can confirm that I will be requesting the permission of the NEC to stand in the Makerfield by-election. I grew up in this area and have lived here for 25 years. I care deeply about it and its people. I know they have been let down by national politics. Ten years ago, I decided to leave Westminster. Why? Because, after 16 years, I came to the conclusion that our national political system does not work for areas like ours. I learnt this fighting its failure to invest in the Wigan borough, for justice for the Hillsborough families and against its treatment of Greater Manchester during the pandemic. Over the last decade, I have been challenging this failure from the outside and building a new and better way of doing politics. We have built Greater Manchester into the fastest-growing city-region in the UK and put buses back under public control, introducing a £2 fare cap to help people with cost-of-living pressures. However, there is only so much that can be done from Greater Manchester. Much bigger change is needed at a national level if everyday life is to be made more affordable again. This is why I now seek people’s support to return to Parliament: to bring the change we have brought to Greater Manchester to the whole of the UK and make politics work properly for people. Millions are struggling and they need the Labour Government to succeed. It has already made changes to make life better for them in its first two years. After this week, we owe it to people to come back together as a Labour movement, giving the Prime Minister and the Government the space and stability they need as the by-election takes place. I want to recognise the difficult decision taken by Josh Simons and the sacrifice he and his family are making. I have worked closely with him as Mayor on issues like flooding and illegal waste dumping and have seen first-hand how effective he has been. He has put the communities of Makerfield first, made a real difference for them and should take great pride in that. Finally, I truly do not take a single vote for granted and will work hard to regain the trust of people in the Makerfield constituency, many of whom have long supported our party but lost faith in recent times. We will change Labour for the better and make it a party you can believe in again. ENDS

@drsanjoykumar Thinking about difference for doctors working with mental illness and physical illness .The poor practice of some psychiatrists can seriously affect the general public in a very negative and impactful way , unlike the later snd so accountability even more important imo

Discharge back to GP is basically lovely medical language for ‘chuck back out into the community’, wash hands off and put the ‘risk’ back in the community, free to hurt people without any supervision, any specialist care or attention, no follow up (even though remember the CPN Gary Carter tries to contact/visit VC even though he is discharged, because of his concern. GPs (me being one) get inappropriate discharges all the time. The question we ask of Psychiatrists, have you cured the patient, if not, don’t discharge. Review ‘cradle to grave’. All other specialties do, till they get a cure or a fully stable patient fit for the community.

@drsanjoykumar Surely if it's not safe , it's not safe and psychiatrist should be refusing to discharge and hold their manager accountable

Megyn Kelly just called out CBS for editing Netanyahu's interview to protect him. 'They cut his claim that questioning Israel means you hate America. They cut his attacks on Americans. Why? Because it would make him look bad.' CBS is sanitizing Israeli propaganda.

End of Day 1. Week 12. 3rd Section: Priory Arnold Acute Hospital 1st - 24th Oct 2021. Medical Director: Dr Ajith Gurusinghe (Forensic Consultant Psychiatrist) was the responsible clinician for the duration. ➖Calocane brought a hammer 🔨 in following his granted unescorted leave on the 10th Oct (10 days after admission). No risk assessment or detail of where it came from or why. ➖Calocane refused all three (!) invites in hospital for activities (group walking, badminton, cricket). ➖Calocane allowed unrestricted access to his own devices and permitted to stay in his room for most of his stay. ➖Calocane demands a change of meds (sudden onset of side affects, taken at face value). ➖Calocane has no CBT or additional therapy for his condition. ➖Calocane returns from his second period of unescorted leave on 22nd Oct with an unexplained injury (a cut and bleeding nose). No questions about what happened, where or when. Recorded that a plaster is given to him though. ➖Calocane discharged on the 24th Oct. With no care plan, no contact made with Crisis Mental Health, EIP, family or Primary Care. No checks to see where he was going. Two different addresses recorded across discharge notes. But they gave him his hammer back! 🔴 AN UNSAFE DISCHARGE. Lazy Indifferent. Incurious. Inept. Inadequate. Incompetent. @rcpsych @NHSEngland @wesstreeting There is a crisis in Psychiatric practice and Mental Health Care in this country. Address it urgently 🙏 #nottinghaminquiry 💛💚

They're trying to strip Zack Polanski's Jewish identity away. The way Trevor Phillips spoke to him was disgusting. If a Jewish politician who wasn't left-wing or pro-Palestinian had been spoken to like this, it would be a national scandal.

@thecsp An advanced physiotherapist practising advanced physio is a welcome member of the team. A physio, practising medicine, seeing an acute exacerbation of asthma or an abdominal pain in a young woman has no place. I believe the public would state this too, if they were aware.
