For a patient who could not fill in a single gap for us. Who depended entirely on a system that had failed to keep their story in one place. I have carried that feeling with me into my career. Because that patient was not an outlier. That patient is someone’s mother or father in a memory care facility right now. That patient is the reason a family member calls every new doctor’s office and repeats the same history over and over, terrified that something critical will slip through the cracks. That is why what Vivek Garipalli and the Clover Health team just accomplished means so much to me.
