@Codedgrim Anime only I think Fern wins. Rudeus has little defensive feats, Fern loves attacking from blind spots so eye of foresight won’t help. It’s funny that close range is a strong win condition for Rudeus this time around

I'm seeing a lot of people saying fern and it's funny because this is not an "Aura off". If it was, fern is probably beating 95% of anime mages. Rudeus wins, 3 reasons: Disturb Magic, Eye of foresight, more mana. Fern’s greatest magic strength is rapid Zoltraak, stealth & defense that is all. Rudeus can cancel her mana and stop her from casting spells through disturb magic. Rudeus sees few seconds into the future which counters her attacks even if she's on stealth. Rudeus has more mana and Firepower. Except he himself is weak, his mana literally has no end. His firepower is highly destructive at least an entire city scale if not nuclear scale. Just like Fern fires Zoltraak in volume, Rudeus’s can do the same. Rudeus is also a combatant. If rudeus gets close to her and she can't use magic she's done for.

They hate Mushoku Tensei because so many of the tourist weebs found out how much of a perv the MC in the show is. From day 1 in the new isekai world, Rudeus is a pervert acting on his urges. The flaw in his character is the point of the show. His real life before he died was a 34-year-old loser, depressed NEET. He gets a second chance but doesn't suddenly become the "hero" in the new world. His complex, flawed behavior is just the extension of his "failure" as a person... A lot of consequences, regret, slow growth, some redemption, family building, etc. It's completely different than the usual bland isekai power fantasy heroes who become perfect all of a sudden. The haters get caught up in applying a modern real-world moral framing onto a fictional story about a shitty person. Then, of course, articles that call the show's MC a "groomer in a kid's body" don't help. Just a typical case of more tourists moralizing fiction. Just because the author writes a flawed character doesn't mean he endorses those actions... obviously.
