Islamists massacred over 200 people in Yelwata, Nigeria—many of them women and children. The media barely mentioned it. thefp.com/p/christians-s…

Half of Cyprus is literally illegally occupied by turkey for more than 50 years. Yet you have pro-palis saying that Israel wants to occupy it. I mean at this point they are just proving our point, that they don’t care about international law or human rights anywhere in the world. And They’ll literally invent anything to just attack Israelis.

@Minorityr3p0rt @JCColtin An increase in taxes could result in a net loss for NYC. Norway lost 448M in tax revenue in 2023 when it raised the wealth & dividend taxes - the super wealthy just moved to Switzerland. New Yorkers don’t have to apply for Swiss citizenship they can just fly to Miami.

“You’ve given us so much hope in dark times. Win it baby,” says Max Flath, who’s canvassing for Mamdani tomorrow, and ran over to see him. Mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani is walking the length of Manhattan tonight.

Astonishing Palaeolithic art in the archaeological museum of Cantabria. I also went to the Cave of Castillo to see the cave paintings but wasn’t allowed to take pics

Mamdani has made it to Midtown, but a friend brought him a slice from Koronet’s uptown. There’s a crowd of about 40 people walking along with him now. He notes that he’s had 46,000 volunteers sign up for this campaign. So many they’re worried about not having enough lit on E Day.

@brombre @esaagar I'm sorry but democracy doesn't work. Why would you want that? All the great democracies are genociding the descendents of their founders. Democracy is merely a vector for Judaic infiltration, subversion, and obliteration

Look, I'm seeing this from the inside, and am admittedly biased towards our president (and my friend), but there's a lot of crazy stuff on social media, so I wanted to address some things directly on the Iran issue: First, POTUS has been amazingly consistent, over 10 years, that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. Over the last few months, he encouraged his foreign policy team to reach a deal with the Iranians to accomplish this goal. The president has made clear that Iran cannot have uranium enrichment. And he said repeatedly that this would happen one of two ways--the easy way or the "other" way. Second, I've seen a lot of confusion over the issue of "civilian nuclear power" and "uranium enrichment." These are distinct issues. Iran could have civilian nuclear power without enrichment, but Iran rejected that. Meanwhile, they've enriched uranium far above the level necessary for any civilian purpose. They've been found in violation of their non-proliferation obligations by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which is hardly a rightwing organization. It's one thing to want civilian nuclear energy. It's another thing to demand sophisticated enrichment capacity. And it's still another to cling to enrichment while simultaneously violating basic non-proliferation obligations and enriching right to the point of weapons-grade uranium. I have yet to see a single good argument for why Iran needed to enrich uranium well above the threshold for civilian use. I've yet to see a single good argument for why Iran was justified in violating its non-proliferation obligations. I've yet to see a single good pushback against the IAEA's findings. Meanwhile, the president has shown remarkable restraint in keeping our military's focus on protecting our troops and protecting our citizens. He may decide he needs to take further action to end Iranian enrichment. That decision ultimately belongs to the president. And of course, people are right to be worried about foreign entanglement after the last 25 years of idiotic foreign policy. But I believe the president has earned some trust on this issue. And having seen this up close and personal, I can assure you that he is only interested in using the American military to accomplish the American people's goals. Whatever he does, that is his focus.

Tipping in Andalucía is not expected and at most you just round up to the next Euro. If you tip more than that the waiters will think you’re either a fool or you’re hitting on them. I forgot this when I went back a few years ago and got of the plane jet lagged and tipped the taxi driver a few euros - my Spanish friends laughed at me and said ‘what are you doing that’s an insane tip’.

I'm in a Spanish-owned restaurant in Cádiz. Sit at the table for 10 minutes, and nobody comes. Finally, someone comes, throws the menu on the table, and says nothing. Comes back 5 minutes later and asks, "What do you want?". After average lunch, I ask for the bill, someone comes with the bill and the EDC terminal to pay. I say thank you, leaving a tip in cash, repeat "Gracias!", but I do not hear a single gracias back. Now compare this with experience in Asian owned restaurant nearby, where service was flawless, and I heard thank you like 5 times. The locally owned businesses with local staff stand no chance of surviving this.

A lot of the waiters in Sicily are Bangladeshi While the kitchen staff is African But funnily enough they all say Prego Here too, like Spain and Portugal, most of the young population has left, in this case for Northern Italy, Germany or UK for better job opportunities Youth unemployment here is ~50% and they don't want to do the low paid jobs of course Interesting how places are changing

That is very normal for the region. You have to go to really high end restaurants to get the kind of service you are accustomed to. I lived in Andalucía 18 years ago it was EXACTLY the same even in the non tourist neighborhoods. If you frequent a spot and try to talk to the staff they will greet you when you come in, crack jokes and give you a hard time (this means you are accepted and they like you).

When you save these dogs - have you found that many ‘owners’ just chain up a new dog in their place? How does the cycle of cruelty stop? I saw many dogs chained up in rural Spain when hiking the Camino de Santiago. They were being used to protect junk yards and construction yards behind barb wire fences. They weren’t starving or physically sick but what a cruel torture for them to be alone and chained up their whole lives. I been thinking of going back and trying to negotiate with the owners to give them up but I have zero doubts they will ask for money and then just chain up another dog when I leave.

@JDVance I have yet to see a good argument why Israel is paying off the majority of Congress and many others to do their bidding. It is nauseating watching all of the bark the same Israel talking points at the same time. Not MAGA or America First to be loyal to a middle eastern country.

Have you ever run a real business in this country that contributed something other than clickbait to our society? I mean honestly an illegal cutting meat is doing more for America than a ‘knowledge worker’ grinding out dopamine hits for screen addicted Americans you’re basically a dope dealer. I’m not a Democrat - I’m a realist who has worked in agriculture. Get all criminals out or those on the dole and close the borders. But don’t pretend Americans have unlimited grocery budgets - it’s easily to talk shit when you aren’t living paycheck to paycheck. This almost drives me as crazy as the left's luxury beliefs. Just like it’s the affluent liberals saying defund the police while living in safe apartment building with security guards - you’re saying inflate the shit out of food prices cause you aren’t the poor American that won’t be able to afford groceries anymore.
