@dieworkwear I think the bigger challenge might be security issues. Presuming (perhaps generously) that she sees her husband behind the scenes on a day-to-day basis, who knows what the glasses are capturing. You think foreign intelligence might be interested in that?

imo, meta and ray ban's biggest challenge here is overcoming the stigma that wearing these glasses in public makes you a nerd or, at worst, a sexual pervert. putting them on the wife of a president associated with sexual crimes does not help this.

hard to imagine someone as style-conscious as melania trump choosing to wear ray ban meta glasses on her own, but even harder to imagine the meta team thinking it's a good idea to promote these by putting them on such a controversial figure

Hey @americanair. Thanks to the cabin crew of Flight 2424 today for the unnecessary small kindness to 11E. They’ll know why.

I’ve seen these bins in action in several cities on two continents. They work. They are a vast improvement over mountains of stinky and obstructive plastic bags. The choice is between bins and bags, not bins and nothing.
constans@constans

“These garbage bins will be UGLY. They will be covered with all kinds of gross garbage materials. Also, it will remove much needed parking spots. We have to end this push to put these anti-NYC garbage bins on our streets”

@dieworkwear Yes, lovely fabric. But those lapels are kind of zoot-suit wide, aren’t they? Or is it just the way he’s wearing the jacket open?

dig this silk-linen sport coat from besnard this season. very interesting, irregular texture and slubby flecks that remind me of donegal tweed, but rendered in a form that's wearable for spring/ summer (depending on your regional climate)

i think short sleeved shirts look good with casual collars (e.g., camp collar) but not with business collars (e.g. spread, button-down). even less so with dress fabrics (e.g. poplin) and def not with a tie. does not matter how many '60s NASA pics ppl post. example of good vs bad:

slowly realizing that I think short sleeve button up shirts are inherently for babies button up shirts can be rolled up at the sleeves if you need more airflow—if you want short sleeves wear a polo no further questions at this time

@SteveGelbs I was there Saturday. I’m sure Bo’s hits will come, and he did a great job tracking down balls that were hit his way. But he *really* needs to work on his throws to first, many of which were, um, less than stellar — especially with a newbie there, too.

@dieworkwear I once worked in NYC’s Garment District. The people-watching was the best. Many people dressed with intention and opinion; even if the results were weird or (less often) ugly, they were at least interesting and worth noticing.

@dieworkwear Giving away crap means you think your brand is crap. Why do that? When I was giving away branded stuff, quality was everything. That’s why I still have and wear the shirts and jackets I had made 30 years later.

starting to feel like only musicians, non-profit organizations, and your local independent bookstore should make merch. the world is flooded with cheap merch that companies feel like they should make and no one actually wears for any duration. goes to back of closet then landfill

@KeithOlbermann @HatClub I’ve been traveling a lot in Europe and South America this year and have been seeing a lot of NYY and LAD caps (and Lakers jerseys). Doesn’t seem to have much connection to the teams or even the sports. It’s just that the brands and the graphics are so strong.

@HatClub Brewers iconic? A logo they threw away after 15 years, dug back up after 13 years? Maybe the Mets (their only main cap for 65 years) or the Giants (same design since 1949) are iconic

@saschasegan @lyndonbajohnson Manhattan (and Brownstone Brooklyn) is 100 pct unaware of anything south of Grand Army Plaza, unless it’s Coney Island. As a homeowner in Ditmas Park, I have mixed feelings about that.

@dieworkwear @urban_comp Depends on the venue. Opera in a church basement calls for different clothes than at the Met or La Scala, where you want to dress up to honor/match the surroundings. Nice outfits here, though.
