Ok. This is an interesting clip. This is one of the first times I’ve seen a politician running explicitly against the progressive NGO kleptocracy. He’s wrong that these people are ‘socialists’ (they’re kleptocrats who use leftist rhetoric to legitimize themselves) but that’s fine. It’s still very effective rhetorically. The right needs to bring this attack up to scale: the purpose of the DSA is not ‘socialism,’ it’s to maximize public revenue extraction so that upper middle class jobs doing fake work can be doled out to political allies (surplus elites, failed creatives, etc.). It’s important for the public to understand what’s going on here and where their money is going and not only can this be an effective cudgel against the left, but smashing these rice bowls can have all sorts of other positive externalities for our politics.

Everybody has a lower tolerance today for potentially awkward interactions. And any interaction with an unvetted person might be awkward, so there's less of them happening.

On one hand, men say there is a massive shortage of good women and they do not know where to find one.
On the other hand, women say there is a massive shortage of good men and they do not know where to find one.
Are they both right? Are they both wrong? Is one right and the other wrong?
Is it possible the shortage is not as severe as it seems, but people are not going out, so they are not meeting anyone?
The people who are visible are often the ones creating noise and drawing attention. That can make it seem like there are more of them than there really are, while the normal people stay home and remain unseen.
I am not asking this rhetorically. I am curious what you see happening around you in your area.

One degree of refinement here is that there is a distinct difference between “winning over normie center-leftists” and “allying with extremist left wing ideologues” who fill the ranks of their political/academic elite.
The reason they don’t normally just say “our aim is to eradicate white people” and do this motte and bailey “oh we just mean the abstract concept of whiteness” is that the 15% of radicals has to keep the other 35% of moderates who just want to help the downtrodden or whatever unaware of the evil plan. If that wasn’t necessary, they wouldn’t speak in code (and as they approach electoral dominance without left-center whites, they are slowly dropping the mask).
But there is definitely room for winning over and working with certain leftists - just not their organisations, leaders, public figures, etc. who all come from this radical caste

Empathycels are reliably the most stupid and unempathetic people in practice because their idea of empathy is something like “only for those I already agree with or it’s socially acceptable to support” when by definition it must be the opposite or it doesn’t count (ie Lena Dunham, a liberal pro-choice feminist, writing a scene in Girls where you empathize more with the guy whose baby got aborted vs with the girl who got the abortion).
Having “empathy for immigrants,” in this case, means indulging all of their narratives and demands at the expense of everyone else, who you’re not allowed to empathize with because it’s not socially approved. Anything short of that is apparently deeming the entire lot of them “unworthy.” Really, when people say you display insufficient empathy for immigrants or women claiming to be rape and abuse victims whatever other untouchable big tent group, what they mean is, you’re making me feel bad.

But it would be inaccurate to say that's the whole story. It's just that their empathy isn't checked by understanding scarcity, tradeoffs, second order effects, etc.

There's an unfortunate game theory to a large civilization in that it requires hard work, ethical behavior, and deferral of gratification to build. But then eventually people start to forget that and think "why would I work hard when theres all this stuff here already? I should just be hedonistic". Slowly, the civilization starts to decay causing it to take care of people less, which causes more people to defect ("why should I take care of a system that doesn't care for me? Especially when there's so much fun to be had by neglecting it"), until eventually it collapses because everyone has defected.
