Where did I mention the Pope
But since you mentioned him
He is the head of the visible church here on Earth
And while his words are not infallible in this situation he is correct.
This war is not “just” according to centuries old church teaching.
And to say a Pope or anyone religious cannot hold a political opinion especially Catholic moral teaching is
absurd especially coming from fellow Catholics
English

@bsquared6987 @Fair_and_Biased If we don't want to lose many more Catholics....if we want to attract new ones, we need to be clear. The Pope is NOT the Church. His words are NOT infallible in this case. His political views are his opinions. We have had good popes and pad popes and the Church endures.
English

The pope is still tweeting passive aggressive statements about war, evil, arrogance, and profit in the midst of Trump’s strikes on the Iranian regime.
He didn’t tweet when the Ayatollah massacred tens of thousands of protesters.
He didn’t tweet when Nigerians were massacred by Islamic militants on Palm Sunday.
I left Catholicism under a good pope (JPII). My doctrinal disagreements were too great to overcome, but I respected him nonetheless.
I’m relieved not to be under the authority of a bad one.
I pray for my Catholic brothers and sisters in Christ and their discernment in these trying times.

@bsquared6987 @Fair_and_Biased Only Catholics believe this foolishness. Where does the Bible teach it? The Word of God
English

@mschlab09 @Tedette1106 @MoniFunGirl @tebec58 @Pontifex You were just poorly catechized and that is the church‘s fault.
English

@Tedette1106 @bsquared6987 @MoniFunGirl @tebec58 @Pontifex I did the same. Don’t let these people on here try to guilt trip you. They will not be the judge of you in the afterlife. I joined a Bible based church and I’ve become a better Christian from it.
English

Christ was crucified once at Calvary and he rose on the 3rd day.
He is present at the sacrifice of the Mass after the consecration of bread and wine through trasnsubstantiation. The bread and wine become the body, blood soul and divinity of Christ crucified and resurrected
All Christians through their sacrement of baptism become children of God with a share in the hope living in eternal salvation with God.
Those baptized Christians, who are not in or have left the one holy Catholic apostolic church do not share in the sacrements given to his church by Jesus himself, thereby missing the fullness of God’s plan for our salvation. This in no way bars them from entering heaven. Their path is just not straight
English

@bsquared6987 Christ is not crucified and resurrected through the Eucharist.
He died and rose again ONCE and for all.
Christ’s Church includes good Catholics, but it isn’t restricted to them.
English

The Church was, is and always will be.
The Church is not a man made construct.
The Church is the mystical body of Christ made up of the communion of saints and angels in Heaven and is represented here on Earth by those baptized in Christ.
This one holy Catholic (universal) apostolic church’s keys were given to Peter by Christ himself to bind and loosen and to be handed down until the end of the age through apostolic succession.
And just as the Jews rebelled against God at the foot of Mt Sinai so did Luther and all the other denominations who came after him and left the one holy catholic apostolic Church only to continue to splinter from the one true church to the point that today there are over 40,000 competing versions of the truth about the plan of salvation God has for his people.
English

@bsquared6987 @Fair_and_Biased Christ didn't die for a massive bureaucratic edifice to be erected in his name. His redemption is for God to dwell in the hearts of Men and Women who chose to believe in Christ. I'm the temple of Holy Spirit. Christ in me, the hope of glory.

I used to listen to the Exorcist files at work when it first came out. Though I knew in my heart Fr Carlos to be innocent after the accusations I fell away from his show.
On Friday my family and I were driving back home from vacation and on a whim I put an episode of the Exorcist Files on Spotify
I don’t know why. My inner voice said to put it on. It was a good episode that lead to good conversation afterwards. My wife asked me who Father was and I explained what happened to him, the false accusations but I never knew the final outcome.
Fast forward to today and this great news comes up in my X feed.
God is good.

A True Divine Mercy Miracle of St Faustina🇻🇦
Sister Gaudia from Poland, who is actually part of Saint Faustina’s community, was in my home town of Brainerd about a month ago. She was there with another sister, Sister Veritas. They spoke to my parish and told this true story that happened in Poland a number of years ago.
A relatively young priest is in a hospital visiting some of his parishioners. He is walking down the hallway, and a nun stops him and says, “Father, can you go into this room? There’s a man on his deathbed. He’s been here for days. We’ve asked priests to go in, but he chases everyone away. He doesn’t want to talk about Jesus. But he’s dying. Could you please visit him?”
The priest goes in and introduces himself to the patient. The guy erupts and starts cursing at him. He is so angry: “I don’t want anything to do with you. Get out of here!”
The priest says, “Okay” and goes out into the hall.
The nun is still there. She says, “Could you go back in?”
The priest replies, “He doesn’t want anything I have to offer.”
“Just give it another chance,” pleads the nun.
The priest reluctantly reenters the room. “I’m not going to ask if you want to go to confession. I’m not going to ask if you want Holy Communion. But is it okay if I just sit here next to your bed and pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy?”
The old man replies, “I don’t care. Do whatever you want.”
The priest sits down and begins softly praying the words of the Chaplet: “For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world….”
Suddenly the man bursts out, “Stop it!”
Startled, the priest looks up and asks, “Why?”
“Because there is no mercy for me!”
“Why do you think there is no mercy for you?” asks the priest.
“It doesn’t matter,” responds the old man.
But the priest persists: “Why do you think there is no mercy for you?”
“I’ll tell you… Twenty-five years ago, I was working for the railroad. My job was to lower the crossing guard arm when a train would come to prevent cars from going on the tracks. But one night I was drunk. I didn’t lower the crossing guard arm, and a couple and their three young children were on the tracks as a train came, and they were all instantly killed. That was my fault. So there is no mercy for me. I have failed. It is over.”
The priest just sits there staring at the rosary in his hands. Finally he asks, “Where was this?”
The man tells him the name of the Polish town.
The priest looks up and says, “Twenty-five years ago, my mom and my dad were taking my little siblings on a trip. I couldn’t go with them. They were driving through this small town. For some reason the railroad crossing guard arm wasn’t lowered. As they were crossing the tracks, a train came and killed them all. I lost my whole family that night.” The priest gazes intently into the man’s face, and he says, “My brother, God forgives you. Not only that, I forgive you.”
The man realises that God’s mercy is for him.
The priest asks, “Would you let me hear your confession and give you the Eucharist?”
The man makes his confession and receives Holy Communion. Two days later he dies. Mercy wins. His failure is not final.
The story goes on. It’s kind of cool. After giving the man Communion, the priest goes into the hallway in search of the nun. He can’t find her. The administration tells him, “We don’t employ any nuns at this hospital.”
For years the priest does not know who this nun is. Eventually he goes to the town of Vilnius, which is where Saint Faustina lived. He goes to the convent to say Mass for the nuns there. He sees a painting on the wall of Saint Faustina, and he says, “I’ve met that nun a couple of years ago.”
“No, Father, you did not,” replies one of the nuns. “She’s been dead since 1938.”
The priest then realises it was Sister Faustina who told him to go into the patient’s room, told him to go back again into that room.

The journalist who took down Harvey Weinstein just spent 18 months investigating Sam Altman.
And what he found out is genuinely insane:
The people who built OpenAI went on record saying he can't be trusted with the future of humanity.
A Microsoft executive even compared him to Bernie Madoff.
This isn't just some hit piece.
It's 100+ interviews, secret memos, HR documents, Slack messages, and private notes that had never been seen before.
Here's everything you have to know about Ronan Farrow's investigation:
Ilya Sutskever, OpenAI's former chief scientist and CO-FOUNDER, compiled 70 pages of internal evidence against Altman. Slack messages. HR files. Behavioral analysis.
The word at the top of his list of Altman's "consistent patterns": lying.
He sent the documents as disappearing messages because he was "terrified" someone would find them. They became legendary in Silicon Valley. Insiders just call them "the Ilya Memos."
Dario Amodei, another co-founder who left to start Anthropic, kept his own private notes. One line: "The problem with OpenAI is Sam himself."
Paul Graham, the man who RECRUITED Altman to run Y Combinator, told colleagues Altman had been "lying to us all the time." Multiple YC partners had complained about Altman's behavior by 2018. He was effectively forced out in 2019 despite publicly claiming for YEARS that he left voluntarily.
Former board members described him as "unconstrained by truth."
And the investigation found that Altman reportedly lied to the board about obtaining safety approvals for some of ChatGPT's most controversial features.
That's the man running an $852 billion company with 900 million weekly users and a Pentagon contract.
But here's where this gets really crazy:
The New Yorker investigation dropped on Sunday.
SAME DAY, Altman publishes a 13 page policy paper proposing robot taxes, a public wealth fund, and a four-day workweek. The most ambitious social policy document in OpenAI's history.
Dropped within HOURS of the most damaging article ever written about him.
That's not coincidence.
Monday: Elon Musk files a court motion demanding Altman be REMOVED as CEO. He wants the for-profit conversion completely unwound.
Then Friday at 3:45 AM: a 20yo throws a Molotov cocktail at Altman's San Francisco mansion. It bounces off the house. Lights the gate on fire. An hour later, same guy shows up at OpenAI HQ threatening to burn the building down. Police arrest him on the spot.
Nobody was hurt.
But within hours, Altman posts a photo of his husband and 1yo child on his blog. Writes that he hopes the image "might dissuade the next person." Then blames the New Yorker article for making things "more dangerous" for him.
In 5 days, Altman went from the target of the most devastating investigation in tech history to the sympathetic father whose family was attacked.
Now anyone who criticizes him has to do it in the shadow of a firebombing.
The New Yorker spent 18 months building the case that Altman is dangerous. Altman turned it into the reason HE'S in danger.
And none of this changes what Farrow actually found:
- The co-founders don't trust him
- The former board doesn't trust him
- The chief scientist documented 70 pages of evidence and was too scared to send them through normal channels
- Paul Graham says he was lied to
- A Microsoft executive put him in the same sentence as Madoff
The trial starts in 16 days.
If Musk wins, the for-profit conversion gets unwound and Altman is removed.
If Altman wins, the man that every person who helped build OpenAI has publicly warned about gets permanent, unchecked control of the most powerful AI company on Earth.
Either way, one thing is now undeniable...
The people closest to Sam Altman are the ones screaming the loudest warnings.
And this week proved he knows exactly how to make sure nobody listens.
Peak manipulation.

I am Protestant. I protest Rome, its dogmas, its false teachings, its lies, and the doctrines I believe stand against the Bible, because they are a detriment to salvation.
I study Scripture day and night, literally, and I have for years. From very young, I had a love for the Word of God and a sensitivity to it. The Bible is not a hobby to me. It is my daily bread. I live in it, think through it, pray through it, and test everything by it.
God allowed me to be trained in law, graduate study, case analysis, and grounded research, and I am grateful to use those tools in service of truth. The slurs, my education, the insults, and the names I have been called for challenging Catholic ideology, is a waste of your time. It will not move me from my mission. Trust!
Despite its bloody past, Rome does not intimidate me, anymore than a butterfly does. Standing alone against twenty hostile voices a day. Even when it comes from a so called “father,” it still does not move me.
Cursing does not move me. Racism does not move me. Mocking does not move me and I am not moved by likes and thumbs up. With the Holy Spirit, I am not outnumbered.
This page is for scriptural discussion, Bible only. Bring Scripture or move on. I do not have time for foolishness. Personal attacks, race baiting, cursing, Ellen White deflections, and nasty replies will be blocked immediately. I have zero tolerance for immaturity. I am an adult, and I expect adults to know how to behave civilized.
I use the block button, liberally.

@Tedette1106 @MoniFunGirl @tebec58 @Pontifex I hope you do and I don’t doubt your faith in Christ Jesus.
But you are missing out on the fullness of the sacrements that Jesus left us
English

That’s your interpretation of scripture. Or what you’ve been told is to be your interpretation. I am far closer to God now without the hierarchy of middle man with political and personal agendas. I will know salvation because I believe in Jesus Christ. Not because another man deems me worthy.
English

@MrJosephtB @Tedette1106 @MoniFunGirl @tebec58 @Pontifex Glad we agree only Christ grants salvation.
But God plan of salvation is still found in his holy church
English

@bsquared6987 @Tedette1106 @MoniFunGirl @tebec58 @Pontifex The “Catholic Chruch” does not grant salvation, Christ and Christ alone does. Christ did not say “all who listen to a fellow man and does what the hierarchy of an organization says is saved”. It’s all who believe in Him.
English

@Tedette1106 @MoniFunGirl @tebec58 @Pontifex Jesus is right.
But he left us a church
You were part of that church so you knew the true and you rejected it
English

@bsquared6987 @MoniFunGirl @tebec58 @Pontifex I didn’t leave Christianity, I left the Catholic Church. My salvation isn’t reliant on my fellow man.
John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
