@KGYEG @PierreVLeBrun he Could resign, and Vegas would then be able to stop paying him and would not be able to reinstate him, but he would not be able to work for another team until his contract expires or the team allows him to, so what would be the point of resigning?

@ba_split @PierreVLeBrun What would the purpose been talking? He would not be allowed to coach Edmonton for another year, if the team does not let him out of his contract. Vegas will not want him going to a team in their division, especially Edmonton.

@PierreVLeBrun Pierre ( just between you and me 😉) he could call the Oilers and have a conversation? Come on who’s gonna know?

@bowlingtwig1 @PierreVLeBrun They have relieved him of his duties. Since he Is still under contract they could reinstate him. He could quit, and Vegas would no longer have to pay him, but he would not be able to work for another team until his contract expires.

@PierreVLeBrun That's crazy considering Vegas fired Cassidy. I feel that if you fired an employee you should no longer hold there rights and they should be allowed to seek other employment

@gljsauer @PierreVLeBrun No he can’t, he is under contract for another year to VGK. Vegas will likely wait until Edmonton and LA have both hired new coaches, since they are in the same division, plus the chances of McDavid leaving Edmonton to Go to another division would be advantageous To them

@DaveKing38 @TSNRyanRishaug @oilersaccess Because he is still being paid by them. They just took his duties away. He is under contract to the team. He just does not have to go to work to collect his paycheck, but he can not work for anyone else until his contract expires or the team allows him to.

@TSNRyanRishaug @oilersaccess Why can they stop a fired employee-coach from talking with other teams? Are they that petty? This seems like an archaic practice.

Hearing a formal interview with Berube is expected after some initial conversation between he and Bowman. Permission to speak with Bruce Cassidy had still not been granted as of Sunday night.

@TonySamBoat @NHL And how is McDavid overrated who has averaged 1.57 points per game in his NHL career compared to Kutcherov’s 1.28 points per game ? Only Lemieux and Gretzky have averaged more. I guess you figure they are overrated as well. Kutcherov is not even top 10.

Kucherov: “I can play PK.” Career totals: - 15:05 total shorthanded time on ice ⏱️ - Around 1 second per game on average 📉 Of course he went out and scored shorthanded last night 😅

@bluebasicd @TSN_Sports The maximum he can get is five games..knowing the NHL DOPS, it will likely be 2 or 3. I agree it should end Gudas’ season

@JayOnSC Of course, being a Canadian I would have been overjoyed if Canada would have scored to win the game, but I still think it’s stupid playing 3 on 3. that is not hockey. Perhaps to lower the risk of injury to nhl players they should just have shootouts. First to 21 goals wins.

@dognell1 @Bob_Stauffer @EdmontonOilers I agree, although I was excited to see what he could bring, it did not take long to see that he was struggling. He has taken bad penalties and has struggled defensively. It did seem like the defence without him played better, but then Dallas was no where near as dangerous.

@SportsnetSpec The whole fiasco was started when Skinner failed to block the pass from behind the net and ended up flipping right to Smith in the slot. In the end he was out of position and missed the puck. Yes the shot was going wide, but had it been on target it would Still have gotten by him

As Bill Ranford once said to me, “Now I’m supposed to stop the shots that are going wide?!?” Skinner forced the shooter to miss the net. His teammate defkected it in. You figure out whose fault that is.
Nick Melanson@nickmelanson_

I don’t think Stuart Skinner could have played this any worse if he tried. Why would he pull himself out of the crease with less than a second to go in the third period of a tied playoff game

@SportsnetSpec Come on, you can see that the shot was taken about 8” before the goal line. He was able to get it past Skinner, but shot it wide. If he had been more accurate it would have been going in and Skinner would still have missed. lots went wrong on that play but should have been a save

@AnakNiIrma @EdmontonJack @LouDeBrusk @GenePrincipe @Sportsnet He played game 1. You likely didn’t notice him because he had little ice time. Even with little ice time he had the worst +/- on the team, and only c. brown had less shots on goal. We need a more defensive player and one who can battle on the boards, and that is not Jeff Skinner

@legitoilfan @JasonGregor I agree, that it may not have been the best decision, but I suspect that they were trying to get a point for Drasaitl to extend his lengthy point streak. Personally I thing 29 should have called it a night after going down. He is too important not be as healthy as possible

@jakesammons @JustinTrudeau Perhaps you should be asking how many Canadian players have won the Stanley cup since ‘93, compared to American players. Considering the USA has 10 times the population it is not impressive that the American roster had 3 Stanley cup rings compared to 15 for the Canadian roster.

@camsterdam @NHL Yeah, both teams were awesome. Could have gone either way. the Olympics should be a lot of fun. I am an Oiler fan so it was extra special to see McD score he big one. American fans should be proud, and it would be great if more of them had the attitude you’ve got.
