@ProagriLtd It amazes me how they talk about us. They either think we are naive, or don’t matter. Every farmer I know is affected. It has obsessed my mind since it came out. We have a viable business employing 20people but for how long. As long as my parents are alive. It’s horrendous.

Sir Keir Starmer trying to justify the changes to APR. It’s clear the human impact on a whole generation isn’t being thought about. Those that are unlikely to live for the next 7yrs, may already have lost their spouse and will get nowhere near the £3m exemption he talks about!

Interesting discussion on the vital role of ruminants in producing food from land where we can't grow anything but pasture at @CattleBreeders today. Given that >60% of our UK agricultural land is only fit for pasture, ruminants are key to food sustainability.

This is precisely why we have continually asked @DefraGovUK to do a food production impact assessment as farm businesses transition to stewardship schemes. It absolutely must happen this year. Real life consequences at stake #MentalHeathMatters 👇

So…here it is, Welsh Government are going to go for the jugular here, reductions of 122k livestock with predominantly dairy being the target. gov.wales/sites/default/… not even trying to hide it anymore. The rural budget vagueness of late and this is why!

Welsh gov new farming scheme intends to reduce livestock no's by 120000 with result 5000 farming jobs expected to go some to b replaced by jobs digging holes. How many vets market agri merchant staff etc also will be lost? rural economy language schools targeted @Plaid_Cymru
