Might be a good idea to study some more. Western Europe made peace within (ending the civil war within the western civilisation) but fought wars all over the world after WW2 to preserve its dominance. They confronted Russia, fought numerous small wars in Asia, Africa, Latin America. They destabilised countries and ruled over them through proxies using military and economic force to dominate. As long as Europeans remained strong, they were seen as a force. Now they are seen as pushovers because they surrendered their defence to an outside power. India and Pakistan are separate civilisations. You only need to talk to a Pakistani to know that. Read the stuff they write and what they air on their media platforms. He doesn’t identify you as part of his civilisation. Now unless you are ready to surrender and not defeat his intention to overawe you and snatch your territory and undermine your existence, by all means go ahead and start the process of your subjugation. It’s been done throughout the last 1000 years. Why not for another 1000? Bottom line: he wants peace but after getting pieces of your country and cutting you into pieces over time. You want that peace? Be my guest and go for it.

Then explain how Western Europe changed suddenly after 1945. Countries which constitute Western Europe were bitter enemies for centuries but after World War 2 they became so friendly that they integrated their economies and did away with borders. The same template can apply in South Asia if all parties are willing. Only talks can lead there. India has been projecting power and Pakistan is matching it, time and again in every recent conflict. India will never have overwhelming military superiority over Pakistan. The only way out is to talk and reach an agreeable solution to all issues.

Our Hon PM Thiru @narendramodi avl continues to make every Indian proud. The successful effort to bring back our sacred heritage plates of the Chola era to India reflects his unwavering commitment to our civilisational roots. The Nagai (Leiden) Copper Plates are among the most important surviving records of the Chola era, preserving a rare royal charter on 21 copper plates with the seal of Rajendra Chola I. They record both Tamil and Sanskrit text, offering invaluable evidence of Chola ancestry, administration, and dynastic memory. They also reveal the Cholas’ maritime connections with Sriwijaya and the wider Indian Ocean world, including support for a Buddhist institution at Nagapattinam. For Tamil Nadu, this is deeply emotional. These are not mere artifacts, but symbols of our rich Tamil culture, history, and spiritual legacy. On behalf of the people of TN we thank our Hon PM for safeguarding and restoring our heritage for future generations.

Civilisations have survived and kept peace only by fighting and vanquishing their enemies. Wars and conflicts have always been part and parcel of human existence. The path to peace is not through negotiation but through strength and the fear among enemies of the unacceptable cost they will have to pay if they mess with you. Negotiations have never solved conflicts but only formalised what was decided on the battlefield. The last sentence about “just settlement…” is a familiar trope used by the Pakistanis to make a case for Kashmir. Surely an ex army chief should have known better than to flog this sentence.
Manoj Naravane@ManojNaravane

The hallmark of civilisations have been long periods of peace where humankind has flourished interrupted by short but intense periods of conflict. The path to peace was and is, through negotiations to arrive at a just settlement that meets the aspirations of the people. Jai Hind

This is how Pakistan lays a trap for Indian political leadership & elements of civil society. * Zia was bad but Political leadership from Benazir to Nawaz wanted peace. * During the tenure of Benazir Bhutto Pak terror increased exponentially in J&K. * Most major terror attacks/conflict happened during the tenure of Nawaz Sharif from Kargil war to 26/11 & Pathankot terror strikes. * Pak civil society & democracy must be encouraged & strengthened is a bogey & well meaning Indians continue to fall into the Pakistani trap. * Look at Pakistan's track record. * Onus should be on Pakistan. * If Pakistan also wants peace let there be action against India centric terror complex. * Let Pakistan prosecute & punish Hafiz Saeed, Masood Azhar & Co if Pakistan also wants good ties with India. * If another cycle of dialogue & diplomacy begins without credible Pak action on terror, India is walking into another Pak trap EYES WIDE SHUT.

This has been position of almost every Army General in Pakistan since Gen Zia days with an exception of Gen Bajwa. Even here everyone believes Pakistan was created on same slogan so nothing unusual or new. Despite this ideology almost every Pakistani wants friendly relations with India. Likewise top Pakistani politicians right from Benazir Bhutto, Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan did not agree with ideological approach towards Dehli. Rather they championed for friendly relation with India and peaceful settlement of disputes through dialogue like mature adults. For understandable reasons, Army Generals or soldiers may need some sort of “ideology” or “holy cause” to fight and offer their lives in a battlefield but politicians are always pragmatic and practical souls. Pakistani awam is equally mature and friendly towards its neighbors. So don’t be alarmed from one word “ideology” and let both sides start talking and ease tense situation. If Gen Musharraf can emerge as Peacemaker and is received in India after Kargil war, then Indian should not get alarmed from Gen Asim, either. Thank you @Vedmalik1 @OfficialDGISPR @CMShehbaz @MIshaqDar50 @kdastgirkhan @HinaRKhar @sherryrehman @MaryamNSharif @narendramodi @MEAIndia @ForeignOfficePk

What TN has shown today, rest of India has been doing for decades. Hindu majority states of Rajasthan, Bihar, Assam, Maharashtra and even Manipur have had Muslim Chief Ministers. Hindu majority Andhra Pradesh, Goa and Kerala have given many Christian Chief ministers. TN is just a new entry to that old club. But the real question worth probing is: how many Muslim majority or Christian majority states have given any Hindu Chief Minister? Zero. Forget Chief Minister, how many Hindu MPs or MLAs have ever been elected from a Muslim majority or Christian majority lok sabha or vidhan sabha seats?? Next to Zero.
Rajdeep Sardesai@sardesairajdeep

A Qs for those living outside Tamil Nadu: would any other major state welcome as chief minister in today’s India someone whose full name is Chandrasekaran Joseph Vijay . What TN has shown today, may India do tomorrow: respect our unique multi-religious, multi-cultural diversity and give everyone a fair shot at their dreams. ⭐️👍

I bow down to the people of TN for your verdict. Happy to see in my land, people have risen in one voice and spoken 1. No to buying of votes 2. No to dynastic Politics & yes to a generational shift in politics. Whoever gets it done has actually done a favour to all! Congrats and best wishes to TVK & Thiru @TVKVijayHQ avl for a spectacular debut in TN politics. Let Almighty be with you to do what you intend to do. And to all NDA candidates, it was a hard-fought battle on the ground. Congrats to all those who won, and for those who couldn’t register a victory this time, let’s keep fighting. Commiserations to Thiru @mkstalin avl & Thiru @Seeman4TN avl for your loss in this election! Finally & most importantly, I thank my dear @BJP4TamilNadu cadres and leaders for toiling hard on the ground. Better times will come soon!

Hindu Bengalis have reclaimed Sanatani Bengal from charlatans and imposters. Bengal has won. Bengal’s culture and identity have won. Bengalis who believe in Bharat have won. Bharat has won. Never imagined this would happen in my lifetime.

I don’t need lessons on democracy, public discourse or decency from anyone, especially from @DrAMSinghvi . Decency and him can never be in the same room. The real issue here pertains to a woman - who has nothing to do with politics - but has her character assassinated on national television using FORGED documents from other countries. I am confident the courts will take note of this, sooner or later and the guilty will be punished for his brazen act of maligning a woman's character using false documents to influence electoral outcomes. Also Dr Singhvi, it’s easy to speak on a platform where I am not present to respond. That is not called a debate- it is simply avoiding a fair exchange, one which you were espousing. And let me be clear, this is just the beginning, not the end. Satyamev Jayate.

Derek calling the PM by his first name is ok. After all he used to call his father the revered Neil O’Brien by his first name too. Like, ‘Hey Neil …’ or if he was feeling Bengish, ‘Aarey Neil…’ PS: Darkie natives like me would respectfully call the OUP boss ‘Sir’.

It is a tragedy that a state that produced Vivekananda, Netaji, AJC Bose, Tagore, Bankim and Vidyasagar is today thought of merely a source of household help in the rest of India. While there is nothing wrong in working as a maid or driver (all honest labour should be respected), the cultural and economic decline of my home state is not the joke that this gentleman seems to think. Some of us witnessed the collapse over half a century, and find this obnoxious.

#Thread Expose : As Pakistan’s Information Minister @TararAttaullah and the @ForeignOfficePk claim Pakistan has “nothing to do” with terror activities in India. We are going to expose how, inside Pakistan’s terror ecosystem, terrorists are not just protected, they are rewarded, promoted and institutionalised. A key example is @MuftiAbidShb now the head of Lashkar-e-Taiba’s Jamia-ud-Dawa seminary in Muridke, which has been under the control of the Government of Pakistan since 2019. (1/n)

The question to ask is why the Pakistan military's moll is trying so hard to convince India of Pakistan's bonafides? She has tried to brush under the carpet all the other objectives Pakistanis have stated quite publicly - how they will use their diplomacy to outmaneuver India in the Gulf, emerge as the regional policeman, keep India out, limit her growing profile, deny India space in Gulf, use its security presence to poison the well against India. There is nothing good that can ever come out of Pakistan. Anyone who thinks otherwise is either plain stupid, or dangerously gullible, or an enemy of India.
